Yet, somehow a deep dysfunction pervades the culture of the team translating into several unexpected losses a year.
several losses per year.....really ....like I posted earlier name five , in fact name three teams that you would trade records/success with over the past five years....none of you idiots that are talking shite can do it ....the truth is most of you not happy with the program are fair weather fans that don't really know that much about collage football....the challenge is out there .,,..name three teams.....you can't.....so stfu .,,....

LOL!!! I think it means the Old Piss loss, but I could be wrong....

In 2005, we nearly lost to a 4-7 Arkansas team scraping out with a 19-17 win on a lucky goal-line stand.

In 2006, a very good LSU team nearly lost to a 3-8 Ed Orgeron Ole Miss squad.

In 2007, we lost to two crap opponents Kentucky and Arkansas.

2010 - a very good LSU team again scrapes out a win versus a crap Ole Miss team in the last minute of the game.

2011 - was the (1) season under Miles' watch in which we disposed off all inferior competition.

So your previous post said that we lose SEVERAL unexpected games per year and you just listed a bunch of games that we won. You managed to list 3 games since 2005 that we lost. One of them was to the #17 team in the country. I do like the way you managed to turn 3 losses since 2005 into SEVERAL unexpected losses per season though.

Easy...

Nick Saban

If not for Nick Saban, Les Miles would be talked about in terms that have been reserved for NS.

Fact...

People couldn't beat John Wooden and we are fools if we think that we will beat Nick Saban year in and year out. But this is the rant.

Roid rage? My gosh, you take the intranets serious.

I don't think trading spots for "x" number of teams is what's at play here. I think some (not all) are going to gripe no matter who the coach is, and how the team is performing.

Some look at Miles and think he under performs as a coach, given the talent level at LSU. I mean, look at NFL rosters. The talent level that has come through LSU (under his watch) is ridiculous. Some think that talent is mismanaged or not held fully accountable, simply put.

Do I think Miles should be fired? Absolutely not. How could you fire him? You can't, given the wins/losses. As stated earlier, he's a decent coach that lands superior talent. Most of the time talent level trumps fair coaching abilities (Gene Chizik - Cam Newton).

Inconsistency has plagued this program for 97% of its history.

ie. Win over #1 Florida in 1997, followed by loss to Ole Miss the following week. There were a number of other seasons which events like 1997 happened.

idk if you read the whole thread but yes it kinda pisses me off that our so called fans act like we are Kentucky ......my point is the things that people are calling clm out for happens at every program ..... if they watch collage football they would see that good teams get beat by inferior opponents on a weekly bases....and while I admit I get aggravated at the way our team plays sometimes, and I believe fans should have the right criticize the team , but damn man if you read some of the stuff that is posted fans think clm should win every game by 50 points and give us an undefeated team every year.....

Most people would be perfectly content if the Tigers would just get out of their own way sometimes.

Let me think....we play in the deepest, most powerful conference in college football?

GASP!!!
Really? 97%! You sat down and with your trusty Texas Instruments calculator figured that out? I am duly impressed.
I am asssuming that LSU is the only team that ever, ever "plays down" and fails to "dominate" every game.
Amirite?

No, not really

FACT: Bear Bryant fully admitted that LSU had more talented teams than his more years than not.

Largely agree with your list of underwhelming performances and you could probably add:

- UTenn '05 (I know it was Katrina affected but UTenn was a 5-6 team and we blew a 21-0 halftime lead)
- Troy '08
- maybe PSU in '09 (I know the field was a quagmire).

But it should be mentioned UK was top-10 in '07 when we played 'em.
