What if Aranda was hired to be the new HC?

Comes in as DC for this year. Another 3-4 loss year with a loss to Bama at home. Miles gets shown the door (what Alleva wanted all along), and Aranda is promoted to HC.

Was he possibly lured here with the promise that Miles' tenure was coming to an end and he would be the heir replacement?

That is a question that cannot yet be answered. If he proves himself on the recruiting trail and as a coach then hell yeah, I'd have no problem with that.

Let's let him coach this defense in the SEC first.

it's unlikely that they are promising him the HC job. but I feel that he got a 3 year deal with a 3 year buyout so if miles leaves he still has his money.

imo, miles is gonna retire in the next 3 years and he may have used that as a selling point by saying he would be considered for the job.

How about we win a title, Miles retires, and Aranda-to-LSU gets the job. I prefer that path for him

If he wants, Aranda-to-LSU will be a HC in the next few years somewhere, so him being HCIW is not crazy.

What if Aranda was hired because we doubled his salary?

Miles will retire from LSU on his current contract and on his terms. Aranda will love being the DC with the talent LSU recruits.

He has to have success here first before think about that. He may just like being a DC.

Doubt LSU would be willing to turn the keys over to a 38 year old with zero head coaching experience. LSU has gone down that road before, and it was a disaster.

Where do you clowns come from?

Why is it so hard to accept that Aranda was hired as DC because he is very good and Miles wanted him, probably since last year?

Ya'll watch way too much soap operas.

I posted the same question.

It may not be out of the realm of possibilities that Les floated the possibility that after his contract is up, Aranda might be a consideration to replace him (that gives Aranda 3 additional years of DC experience, in the SEC and under Les's wing). This guy has had other P5 offers that he declined before LSU.

A lot of posters on this site lack forward thinking. This is a very real possibility.

I think Aranda knows that if he has success at LSU as a DC, he will be in line for a lot of HC jobs.
