We were scared and conservative last year?

and that's the rub right there. Even with Mett, OBJ, Landry, and Hill, we played scared and conservative. Best combo of talent and experience we are likely to ever see, with the pro style QB, and we play ultra conservative smash mouth style.

No we didn't.

I'm sorry you feel this way.

If you're happy with 8-9 wins then that's wonderful.

I'm happy with winning more than 95% of the rest of FBS football teams. I think that keeps us in the hunt.

Uh, I believe that's what they're doing.

== in the hunt.

I'm sorry people freaked out over getting beat by State, but their best, most experienced team in a decade just came up against one of LSU's worst, and least experienced teams, and barely won doesn't mean that suddenly LSU has fallen down to State's level.

LSU gains a lot of experience for next year, and State loses a bunch. It'll be back to normal.

The real problem is Bama. LSU fans will tear their program apart just to try to get ahead of a juggernaut. There's one team in the country right now that's consistently better than LSU and it's driving LSU fans crazy. They're so crazy that they think being #2 is the same as being #128. That's sad, and will eventually tear the program apart to where they WILL be #128, losing to teams like Houston and Vandy. Good times - I've seen them.

The drawback of the prostyle in college is its far more complex than a spread option.if you dont have an efficient qb it severely hamper your ability to catch teams off guard. If you have a good qb you can line up in a two te set and catch a team creeping up to play the run

Firm grasp of the obvious.
Post more wikipedia screen shots of the route tree. We'll all impressed.

Against Bama, apparently we leave too much time on the clock for Chavis' awesome prevent defense. What is that, two consecutive home losses when being up with an average of 97 seconds left?

However, I don't necessarily believe that is Chavis' fault either. I think Miles tells him he has to play soft, non-aggressive football in those instances. Chavis is too smart of a coach to watch game film and not know that is a dumb defensive plan after it failed once.

Miles, otoh, obviously has an issue with watching game film, learning from it, and not repeating the same mistakes.

Opinion gleaned from your many hours of watching film with the coaching staff?

You people get more idiotic by the day.

Our speciality redzone pass is out of a two TE formation. Two TE, I-form with dural out wide. We roll jennings out and give him 2 options

I wish this was our go-to redzone pass. Our redzone pass is a fade, which leaves a small window for success.

We run a pro style offense that requires a QB to make professional throws. If we don't have that big, accurate arm (like Mett) then the passing game isn't effective. Jennings can make some great throws, but his arm isn't accurate enough to make the needed throws. He usually makes good reads, but can't complete the play.

Run up middle
Run up middle
Try a pass
Scratch heads and punt

It'll work next time (next year). We'll adjust as we need to. We will have plays for Harris.

Laughing and saying it over and over doesnt make it true. LSU runs a modern pro style offense. We were smash mouth this year because it was our only offensive weapon.
