We still have a significant opportunity to finish 8-4. Ole Myth is improving and might beat us unless we can figure out the offense. AL and AR will be very tough games.

9-3/5-3. I figured we'd be a better team in 2010, especially on offense, but that this would be offset by improvements to teams like MSU, Auburn and Arkansas. In fact, I pencilled in Auburn and Arkansas as two of our three season losses.
Recordwise, we're doing better than I thought we would at this point (I had us at 6-2). But performancewise ... well, while our defense and special teams have been pretty stout, our offense is once again ranked in the 100s. I'm not howling mad like some folks, but back to back seasons of anemic offense definitely diminish the luster of our 7-1 record imo. Normally, a 7-1 record would be a guarantee of job security for the coaches, but that's not the case here.
Another thing: we were 9-3 last season, but easily could've been 6-6 with losses to MSU, UGA and Arky. Now we're 7-1, but we could easily be 4-4 with losses to UNC, Tennessee and Florida. For better or worse, this stands out in my mind. Is this an indication of strength—or luck?

Many predicted those losses because they didn't think Miles could beat the big boys. Should everyone be happy that they are right in that we won't be elite again this year?

I went back and forth between 8-4 and 7-5. It still looks like 8-4 is a distinct possibility.

11-1 for the regular season with a loss to Arkansas.

5-3 is a solid season in the SEC

I wish people would quit using "we only lost to the #1 team in the country by 7" crap. The truth is Auburn could have scored in the last few seconds of the game if they had not been celebrating so much. So everyone that is happy that we ONLY lost by 7 should realize that it very well could have been a 14 point loss.

It's not the record. It's the Keystone Kops approach to the game that is the issue.

The term has since come to be used to criticize any group for its mistakes, particularly if the mistakes happened after a great deal of energy and activity, or if there was a lack of coordination among the members of the group. For example, the June 2004 election campaign of the Liberal Party of Canada was compared with "the Keystone Kops running around" by one of its parliamentary members, Carolyn Parrish. In criticizing the Department of Homeland Security's response to Hurricane Katrina, Senator Joseph Lieberman claimed that emergency workers under DHS chief Michael Chertoff "ran around like Keystone Kops, uncertain about what they were supposed to do or uncertain how to do it".

10-3 with a Jan. 1 Bowl victory. I'll probably stick with that for now.

8-4
Thought they'd definitely lose to:
AU
Bama
Ark
Throw in the one game that they were favored to win, but somehow lose and that's how I came up w/ 8-4.

I had us 10-2,or 9-3. (I had us losing to UF, Bama, and maybe Ark). Stil think we go 10-2 beat Ark. Even if we don't, 9-3 = Cotton Bowl. Not too shabby, but huge case of "what might have been".

I predicted 11-1
I remember people saying before the season, that this was the toughest schd LSU had to play in years. Now we are 7-1 and they say we haven't beaten anyone? When we beat Bama they will say Bama is not as good as usual. If I hav a problem with the current LSU squad, it is Gary Crowton.

I said 10-2 was the absolute worst, 11-1 was more likely but I thought 12-0 was doable.
I did not realize Cam Newton was going to hit the SEC like a New-tron bomb.
12-0 is not going to happen obviously but I think 11-1 is very doable and honestly, with as hamstrung as we have been on offense Miles should win the Coach of the Year award if we pull that off...

I predicted LSU's record would be 8 and 4. I am very happy I am wrong.
Posted on 11/9/10 at 6:35 am to jg8623
I said 11-1 and the loss would be Florida and then we would beat Florida in the SEC CG for the right to play for the BCS CG.

LSU will loose to Fla. in the swamp
LSU will beat Bama in TS
Bama will beat Fla. in BDS
LSU will beat Fla. in the rematch in Atl. to play for the BCS. 1. LSU 11-1 (7-1)
2. Bama 10-2 (7-2)
3. Arkansas 8-4 (4-4)
4. Auburn 8-4 (4-4)
5. Mississippi State 4-8 (3-5)
6. Ole Miss 3-9 (2-6)
Also Bama will loose a game that they are not supposed to loose. That is the way it is in the SEC you can not take a week off that is why the SEC is the best conference in College football.

6-6 and 2-3 headed to uf, a trip miles wouldn't make. My boss pulled out our respective prognostications yesterday. He said 8-4 5-0 to start. He did remind me that I told him if we start 5-0 we win 10+.
Eta: I believed then and now that unc wvu and msu was a rough stretch.
