So last night Cincy, whose starting QB was not even listed on the depth chart last year, got hurt. The second string QB comes in and commences to lead 2 scoring drives against a top 10 rated defense.

The Cincy head coach does this with interchangeable players every year. He rarely has a down year. Of course playing in the Big East is doesn't hurt, but Cincy plays and beats top tier college football teams.

Texas Tech leads the country almost every year in yards from scrimmage with players that teams like Texas and LSU pass on. And Mike Leach just plugs in different QB's every year, and they continue to win. And they compete with Oklahoma and Texas, it's not like they get ran out of the building.

I know that scheme has a lot to do with it, but what are we missing with our player evaluation and development?

For the first time in 5 years, I am going to say something negative about LM, he cannot adjust during, before or after the game. I still have confidence in him and this team.

- QB development
- Too much seniority
- We don't play the hot players

That's always what comes to mind.

Ditto I wonder the same thing, they continue to it with 2 and maybe some 3 star recruits, That is a question that needs to be answered.Alabama has gone from a 5-6 win team this decade to now playing for undefeated seasons with the same star ratings per recruit as LSU.It does make you scratch your head.

Agree. This is the BIGGEST issue. We are a top 5 team with a lousy QB and no real second option. That one position makes us really a Top 20 team.

This gets bandied about a lot but please provide examples of players who should be playing but are sitting behind upper classmen that aren't as good as them. And don't say Shep. We know he's a player but he's not developed enough to be the full time QB.

there is no doubt that the whack job coachin TT knows how to move the football and score a lot of td's but he will NEVER compete for a national title, same goes for cincy (there is advantages when playing w/ nothing to lose). i agree that there is something missing from our offense and i dont know if any of us are exactly sure what that is. miles teams has not had trouble in his first 4 yrs from an offensive production standpoint w/ jimbo or crowten so hopefully this will get way better as jj grows and the o-line is tweaked.

agree somewhat, but I think more of the issue is Crowton/Miles determination to fit the QB into the system vs. fitting the system to the strengths and weaknesses of the QB.

you can argue this both ways, but if you let the QB grow into the system you have a chance to become a dominant offense as opposed to one that has only a couple of dimensions. There will be some growing pains, however, and the O may not look as good early on. The risk, however, is the QB doesn't develop and you're starting over.

LSU would be 6-0 right now with a Senior QB IMO.

WTF?? Hot players? You need to take a break & check out some Cheerleader pics or something.

Notre Dame looses by more than 10 points, he is their new coach IMO. Might be right now..

Maybe, but think the Kelly deal may be done. Besides, Meyer has the whole state of Florida to mostly to himself now in recruiting.

i have been saying this for a couple of years , we need a quarterback coach. Its pretty obvious that no one on this coaching staff knows shite about the quarterback position.
