I know he wouldn't get the buyout but how do you on a personal level withstand the talk? For the remainder of this year AND very likely next year? Justified talk of course.

I'm guessing slim to none but I guess I'm wondering if he should consider resigning? We wouldn't be any worse off than we are now.

Zero. If you read the book Meat Market, you would know that O thinks that his incompetence is down to bad luck, rather than poor preparation. O has something in him that makes him a really poor leader.

I would never leave millions on the table. The football teams problems are on him, but this contract buyout isn’t. How Alleva outbidded himself is hilarious.

What are the chances that you would just give $12 million away?

$3.5 MM makes it very easy to withstand the badmouthing.

LET me pose it this way, what if Joe went to O and said “ Hey what if I demote you to DL coach and redo your contract, so we can get a coach in here that these kids are gonna listen to. That way you can still keep a job at the University you love so much and we can get a new head coach in.” I mean if the guy loves the Tigers so much wouldn’t he do everything possible for them?

Zero. Fire him and pay him and he'll walk to the next town with his snake oil pitch.

Zero. LSU's best hope is that Alleva gets fired and LSU tries to work out a deal to renegotiate O's buyout. But even that might not work because F. King is so worried about how the public perceives us firing another coach with a huge buyout, despite all the money coming from private funding

I think this is why I'm wondering if he would ever resign. If he really does love LSU why would you continue to let it spiral down?? I know money talks but come on man. Just leave already.

Because he doesn't really "love" LSU. He loves Ed Orgeron.

In the past, he had contempt for the idea of coming to LSU as an assistant. I was surprised in 2015 when they brought him in as DL coach that people seemed to have forgotten that.

He was going to say anything he had to say to get another HC gig. Even at LSU.

O will be like Miles. He will have to be thrown out on his arse. Because, again...like Miles, once this gig is up his coaching days are over.
