The 2006 team lost 4 1st rounders including a quarterback.the 2007 defense was in tact but the offense had question marks going in.
I'm worried about the ends a little but overall our defense should be fine.our offense will be much improved.
What was les suppose to do with saban's players, not play them?saban used alot of mike shula's players when he won in 2009.greg McElroy,Javier arenas to name a few.
Les will never get credit people like you.our 2011 team was his was it not?it was pretty good.

Nope... Still no proven qb, or receivers that can get us there, and with Miles I have no faith that they can get one ready. Otherwise yes. Tons of talent.

Matt Flynn was unproven as well.Flynn didn't exactly set the world on fire.he did enough to get the job done.thats all we need from Harris or Jennings,(preferably Harris).my post was this years team compared to 2007.we have a offensive line, great stable of backs, and a deep receiving crew.our defensive line isn't as good as 2007's but if we can stay healthy I think we can be undefeated going into Tuscaloosa.I think this coaching staff is gonna make a big splash the next few years.harris will be better and the team seemed to play better with him in there.
Anyway,I hope I'm right.

The talent on offense is there and well enough to get it done, just not on defense. No one knew at the beginning of '03 and '07 that we would win it all, let's line up and play!

I disagree. I think the talent is there on defense. It would be very hard to find a secondary as good as the LSU secondary. If Coach O can get the Dline to play like they did in 11, this D can be very good. I think it all starts up front.

Uhhhhh....Miles led LSU to an undefeated regular season with Lee and Jefferson for QB's. I wouldn't say it's that far fetched to think we could do the same with our current batch. Especially since there is no 2011 Bama lurking out there.

Before we can compare 2015 to 2007, LSU better make a deal w/ the Patriots to bring back Matt Flynn.

Hopefully, Brandon Harris will step up. If he doesn't, then any comparison to 2007 is meaningless. Flynn led that team to score over 500 points, I believe.

Our DL is just not there yet with the talent and depth. In 2007 and 2011 it was just filthy.

Michael Brockers was an absolute brick shite house on that team and allowed for the rest of the defense to play aggressively.

We have a chance to be very good. Our skill players minus QB and our OL are very good and proven. Our secondary will be unreal. However the middle on defense is just thin and inexperienced. Getting Valentine would really help for depth.

Sorry but there is no comparing that team to this one when it comes to talent. The only difference in these teams, albeit huge, was Flynn and Dorsey.

This team is unproven, but as good as Hester was, and I love JH with Scott and Williams. But....Leonard, Williams and the FR coming in are better. Doucet was hurt a lot, Lafell was good but dropped the ball, the Mitchell boys were inconsistent and Tolliver was young and inconsistent. Compared to 4* & 5* kids that go 7 deep. All with 4.45 speed. Dural, Quinn, Chark, Dupre, Mr. Reliable Diarse and the #1 WR in the country T. Johnson. Dickson was decent but the TEs in 2015 are much better as a group. That O-line had 2 good players. Helms & Blackwell. Herman Johnson & Black were young. Black was a guard playing tackle and he was average. This line has 3 kids who will be high (1st-3rd round) picks in the NFL in Hawkins, Pocic & Alexander. Very comparable to the other 4 but I give the edge to 2015 because of Hawkins.
On Defense, that D-line was better due to the dominance of Dorsey, RJF and the steady play of Jackson. But the back seven is a huge advantage for the 2015 team. That year had Beckwith and Highsmith as the main LBs. I would take this Beckwith with Debo and Louis by a hair. This year's Beckwith could be a 1st or 2nd round pick. Secondary is not even close. Zenon, Chevis Jackson and FREAKING Danny McCray vs. Ed Paris, Kevin Tolliver, Thomas and All - American candidate T. White. Then safety, Steltz and Taylor. Two very solid kids vs a future All - American and 1st round pick in Adams and a solid 2nd round guy in Mills, who started at corner here at "DBU" as a FR!

That 2007 team has such leadership and toughness. Flynn was not great but he didn't beat you and kept LSU on schedule offensively. I'm hoping Harris has seized this opportunity handed him by an error in judgement by Jennings. He is much more talented then Flynn but talent alone doesn't win games. Here to hoping this team full of talented kids pulls together and makes this a special season. But keep in mind when comparing those 2 teams, remember the SEC was different then. In 2007, it was Saban's 1st season at Bama. Auburn wasn't this crazy offense that it is now. Olé Miss and Mississippi State weren't this good. The conference was still good of course, but you have 3 teams just in the west that could win the chip and 5 that could win 10 games in LSU, Bama, Mississippi State, Olé Miss and Arkansas.

We don't have as much talent as you guys think. You don't go 8-5 with stacked teams no matter what recruiting services tell you.
