Maybe Jindal will step in again and insist that Peveto get the interim gig.

Thanks Bobby

As my son put it, losing Coach O may well hurt us in recruiting but then, under CLM, we've been having great recruiting classes & we are still barely treading water on the field. I agree, where ever Kiffen ends up, Coach O goes with him. He's done so 3 times now. I just want both out of the conference.

Give him a shot. 2 year contract. Can't do much worse. I think he learned from the Ole Miss experience.

you "think" he learned from his Ole Miss experience? Why? What are you basing that on?

oh, then it's true, I guess.

I'm not trying to be a dick, everyone learns from prior experiences and I'm sure Coach O learned alot from his stint at Ole Miss.

But he was a spectacular failure there, so merely learning some things won't turn him into a solid head coach.

If we wants to get back into the head coaching world, he needs to go to a lower school and prove he has it. Then the big schools will come calling.

Worth the risk. We may lose him either way. We make him interim and tell him if we win the SEC-West he gets a 2 year HC contract beginning in 2017. Incentivize him to do the right thing. In this scenario, we have a chance to see some real adjustments to be made. Coach O can do this. Miles cannot. Take the chance and roll forward accordingly.

He wants to be HC again, and I don't think we want him to be HC for real (I don't see him being on the short list)

He resigned from USC for the same reason.

I'm a huge O supporter. Been pumping him for years and would love for him to be our HC. Kids love playing for him. But I cant take him over Herman or others we could possibly get. I do think he would be more likely to stay here because LSU is home. You are correct though, he would be good here and bigger names would come calling

This is the bottom line. If Les goes, O goes. O will not get the HC gig and isn't going to just stick around for the next guy.

Disagree. If Miles is fired mid season and coach O isn't promoted to interim, he's still making too much money to quit mid season. I imagine given the right head coach, he would stay as long as possible until he gets a HC opportunity he is willing to take.
