At 6’5”, 220 pounds, I’m surprised at the lack of arm strength. He’s young and will get stronger. That is really the only downside with Max. He has everything else.

He looked good but I’ll hold off on getting to excited until I see a few more games.

If Brennan is healthy it’s going to be a three man battle royale. If not, Finely and Max will battle it out.
The battle will be between Brennan, Maximum and Nussmeier...........

He did have some, it's just that some of his tougher throws like ten yds deep to the sidelines or the air balls deep looked like HS type trajectories.

True. Garrett Nussmeier will be on campus in the spring and blow everyone away.

Did he sign yet? Until he does anything is possible. Like Gilbert going home. Who would have thought.

It appears Max has the "IT" that makes some QB's better than their abilities and coaches who overlook the "it" for the flash rarely survive.

There was concern that their playoff run might not have him on campus in the spring, since the Texas playoffs go into latter part of January because of Covid situation. That ended on Friday when his unbeaten team lost. Garrett sat out with a hand injury, plus their starting fullback and wide receiver stars sat out over Covid tracing, as did a bunch of other players on the Flower Mound Marcus team.

I expect him to early sign and be on campus.

It’s crazy that you got downvoted 4 to 1 for simply saying that Brennan is in the conversation next season. It just goes to show how over enamored our fans are with “the back up”.

Brennan is your starter next year.

I hope so. He seems like that leader that we are missing.

This was the knock on Burrow coming out of HS and at OSU too.

Finley is Brandon Harris all over again. With Nussmeyer and Walker Howard coming in over the next two seasons and Max Johnson coming back and Brennan more than likely returning, LSU will be pretty well established at QB in the next few seasons.

In all fairness and all due respect, Finley simply does not read defenses as well as Johnson. He does not move as well as Johnson. He can’t throw a slant as well as Johnson. He doesn’t have the pocket awareness as Johnson. It is pretty obvious Max Johnson is well ahead of Finley as a QB.

The QB runs early. And being able to execute the Zone read and RPO makes a huge difference. Brennan and Finley take half of our offense off the table

Dumbest shite on the rant today.

1,100 passing yards, 11 td passes in first 3 games as a starter behind a beat up young Oline that offered very little protection and less run blocking early in the season. FYI Brennan ran for over 1,100 yards in HS. I don't think he's Cam Newton but I don't think he a bad runner either.

You know jack shite about football.

Can we combine Max's legs with Brennan's arm?

ot to take anything away from Findley, but Johnson seemed to have a different demeanor out there and the offense really bought into it.

You can tell how Max reads defenses, that he's the son of a football coach. It also doesn't hurt that dad just happens to be a former NFL, super bowl winning QB, either! Johnson has a lot of upside and if he can continue to improve, he's going to have a great career at LSU!

The job is Brennan’s and it isn’t even close!
