Not to take anything away from Findley, but Johnson seemed to have a different demeanor out there and the offense really bought into it. Unlike past games where it seemed like we got frazzled, the offense played as one and I think a lot of that had to do with the business-like attitude Johnson showed. He never appeared to get too high or too low and remained focused on the task at hand. His ability to run also kept Florida's defense on its toes, which reminds me of another QB we had recently. Great win! Geaux Tigers!

Well I would just say the Coach O and whoever is on the staff in the sprig has lots of game tape to evaluate.

1) Brennan played 3 games
2) TJ started 5 games
3) Max started 1 and 100% gets the start vs. Ole Miss.

Brennan played well vs MSU, Vandy and MIZZOU. He had the full compliment of offensive weapons (Marshall, Gilbert, Racey). However, those 2 of those teams are lets face it horrible (VANDY and MSU).

TJ played well vs SCAR and Arky, horrible vs Auburn and Texas A&M. Not going to judge the Bama game because they make everyone look bad. SCAR and Arkansas again or not good, Auburn and Texas A&M 6 and 7 win teams respectively, TJ did not play well. He like Brennan had most of the top weapons available for all 5 of his starts (Marshal opting out for Bama and Racey until he got hurt at Arkansas but he did catch a TD).

Max played well in backup role to TJ. Last night vs Florida to me was the best performance by any QB this year. Went on the road and beat a 8-1 Florida team and look at the playmakers he was working with. No Marshal, Gilbert, Racey and in the 2nd half, no Emery or TDP.

Max to me allows you to run the offense more like you ran with Joe, more RPO and the zone read as a QB run option and you can bootleg and roll him out. No he is not LaMar Jackson, nor for old schoolers, Steve Young or real ole schoolers Fran Tarkenton, but he has pocket mobility and can extend plays and gave LSU 58 rush yards on 18 attempts last night

I hope all 3 go into spring and compete but Max might have the better skill set for the type of offense O said he wants to go to and what we had last year. So if Max wins the job in the spring, then both Myles and TJ are going to transfer, that is the reality of the QB position. If Myles gets healthy and wins the #1, then whoever is 3rd (Max or TJ) is going to transfer.

Like what I saw last night and IMO, best QB performance by any of the 3 QB's LSU has had to play this year given team playing was Florida, on the road, and Max did not have Terrance Marshall, Arik Gilbert, Racey McMath out there to throw to. I am going to listen to Rohan's breakdown with Jimmy Ott coming up at 10am.

Finley played well in one game. Harris played well in one game a few years ago. One games doesn’t mean we have a QB. Brennan was way better than either of the freshman I am not sure the obsession with moving on from him.

Finley played well vs South Carolina and Arkansas, but he sold me fools gold early, that I bought into thinking he could beat out Brennan in the spring.

Finley is going to be a damn good QB in a couple years. Johnson brings thoughts of Burrow prior to coming to LSU, but what is his potential? IDK, because Burrow's relentless thoughts on improving, and the new young coaches, are what made him explode. Will Johnson have that, hell will Finley? All I know is that we'll be fine post Brennan.

I think this as well. We have 2 guys that have all the potential in the world right now.

One game doesn’t make a qb. Finely looked great his first start too.

Let them evaluate more in the off season.

Yes sir we do indeed. Just need a little coaching and some time with the team getting use to his style and left arm.

Nobody wanted to come out & say it , the typical bear in the room, but TJ may have just started to keep a certain group happy , to keep other BLM backers in line . If this is what it takes to win , what is our world coming to ?

You can't judge Finley nor Brennan by what happened last night. The "team" has shown tremendous improvement lately.
WTF?

You need to be biased, blind, an idiot, or some combination thereof to not see what Max did last night as anything short of something pretty amazing. He played with tremendous heart and grit and got the win in his first start as a true freshman toward the end of the season against a CFP contender and the SEC east champion at their house with the most depleted team in LSU history in terms of roster number and opt outs, injuries, and other reasons and with a defense that gave up over 600 yards. Also, props to the defense, because although they gave up a ton of yards, they definitely fought their hearts out and did their part to help with this win.

We'll see if he can sustain it next week now that there's film on him to study but if he has a similar performance against Ole Piss, Myles will have a battle to start next year. Also, this arm strength argument is weak sauce. It's such an overrated quality with almost no impact on QBE. If that was Myles last night, I would have been his best performance by far.

This board is truly an idiot's wasteland.

Who the hell are you kidding??? Brennan was the leader of this team when he was out there and team was only in those games because of him leading the offense and the offense following him because the defense was so bad. When have you seen him pouting?

To me it is more Brennan did not handle pressure and was not as mobile. On the downs Brennan had time he threw well and no one doubts his arm talent. He took to much time on his reads and did not get the ball out quick enough

You do realize Brennan was coached not to run as much because he had TWO TRUE FRESHMAN QBs behind him and they didn’t want him taking chance of getting hurt, right? He was bad in first game with reads but he corrected that by game two.

Neither Brennan nor Finley have the mental awareness to play at SEC speed. It’s not all about physical gifts at QB.

Brennan was reading and diagnosing coverages and calling check downs without any problems. What are you talking about? He was running the offense fine, minus that Missouri goal line pass (which turns out he was playing extremely hurt)

Brennan does not have Max's mobility. Period. And No I don't think it is Brennan's job in the spring. You could have a new Passing Game Coordinator and maybe OC. If am Coach O you go into Spring with Brennan, Max, TJ and Nuss (who I don't think will beat out any of the other 3) and you say open competition.

My prediction LSU will have 2 or 3 QB's on the roster next year. If Brennan wins the job, TJ or Max, whoever is number 3 will likely transfer, Nuss will be the Freshman as #3.

Hypothetically, what if Max, or TJ, wins it, Brennan going to stick around. I doubt it.

IF Coach O goes with the offense he went with last year, RPO and Zone read with spread passing type offense, I think Max can run that better than Myles or TJ.

Max has mental toughness. He has fight. He has composure. He doesn't seem to get down and shitty. He can play. He has hustle. He wants it more. His name is awesome. What else do you need besides a little more arm and vision?
