If you look at the depth chart of Alabama and the anticipated early departures, their roster will be very young.

The outgoing senior players that had major roles for Bama are:

Offense

Richard Mulaney (3rd WR)
Ryan Kelly (All American C)
Dominick Jackson (Starting RT)
Jake Coker (Starting QB)
Michael Nysewynder (Starting FB)

Defense

Darren Lake (Starting NG)
Jarran Reed (Starting DE (allsec)
Dillon Lee (Starting SLB)
Reggie Ragland (Starting MLB allsec)
Denzell Devall (starting Jack)
Cyrus Jones (starting CB)
Geno Smith (starting CB)
Bradley Sylve (backup CB)
DJ Pettway (backup DE)
Now those are just the players guaranteed to leave.

The players likely to go would include:

Ashawn Robinson (all american DE)
Derrick Henry (all american RB)
Jonathan Allen (Backup DE)

Potential to leave:

OJ Howard
Eddie Jackson

It's apparent that the Tide are going to be extremely young, especially on defense. Couple that with a new QB, us returning most of our starters, the game being in Tiger Stadium. I think we should expect to open the game as the favorites.

We were a 6.5 point underdog going into the game this year, it was a tall task for us to go to Tuscaloosa and win. I think the shoe will be on the other foot and if we lose to Bama in 2016, it should be an indictment on Les. I expect a win, and so should everyone else.

50/50

Game is always really tight in BR. In fact, we've really outplayed them the last three times here.

Pretty sure he will get that 10th year of eligibility.

We hear about a lack of depth often with Bama, but they just reload with stellar recruiting classes.
We can't even remotely be thinking about beating Bama next year.

Any chance Foster goes pro?

Young or not, we play them late in the season. They'll be ready. They recruit well enough to reload. Even if they have a hiccup early on in the season they'll be a top 10 team at worst when they face us.

This reminds me of a Bobby Knight quote about Dale Brown:

"I was worried about losing until I looked down the floor and saw Dale Brown. Then I knew we had a chance."
-Commenting on that stormy 1987 game with LSU

I imagine this is what goes through Saban's mind each year.

Why not?

This year they had an evident advantage in talent. Next year it's not unreasonable to think that we'll have that same edge.

No. They will probably be a better team next year.

O-line, QB, WR positions will all be better.

TE and RB probably won't see a significant dropoff (Let's keep in mind lots of people had doubts about Henry coming into this year).

Their front 7 on defense will only take a slight step back. Their DB's will be much better.

Like someone said before, their biggest concern right now is staff turnover.

How does that account for our team playing with their assholes tight, our coach losing his mojo, an entire bye week before it for it to get into our players heads (like it does every year) and us falling flat on our face? The players are irrelevant in this situation. The coach on the other side of the field will never be beaten by our coach again.

schematic advantage

their roster was young this year and returned less starters than we did, and we still got our arse whooped. Means nothing

We will probably be a better team next year all around. Offense will be better and D will be about the same. We rotate so much at defense that we rarely have a drop off up front and our corners will be very good.

You can do this when a lot of your 5* players aren't asked to play until they are Juniors.
