Reading these post this week has really opened my eyes just how inept the Miles defendes really are. These people really do not understand why this decision is being made. Its not about Les being a great guy or about him consistently winning 9 games a year. Its about how his coaching style has gotten stale. Its about the fact that this program has been stuck in mediocricy for the last 3 years. A change is needed. The program needs a new voice and a new energy surrounding it. Mostly, it needs a coach whose philosphy can fit with today's college football. Les time has come and now its gone. He has and will always be beloved here. Its just time for a change.

Even if he loses out - he's averaging 10 wins per year, baw - 5 times more than 10.

ETA: You're thinking of Saban - HE was consistently winning 9 games a year here (48/5=9.6).

His first 3 years he used someones elses QBs to get there

The only other years he did it was when he was forced to play Jarrett Lee, even tho he hated the thought of doing that, or putting all his eggs into a JuCo transfer (see Chizik)

So the 10+ seasons werent because of his want to recruit and develop

As a farker, I want Miles forever at LSU (or at least relevant somewhere in CFB).

As a fan who has watched handcuffed offenses squander multiple rosters loaded with NFL talent, he should have been fired after the Ole Miss Spike game '09, the Tennessee 13th man game '10, or the 1-9-12 obliteration.

I think people are concerned they are forcing a guy out and it could back fire.

At this point most of the big Miles fans have sad it's time for a change. But that doesnt mean it's time for every fan to attack him and post complete bullshite while doing it.

And the next coach will be judged equally I suppose. He will either win with Miles talent or lose with Miles talent. I guess it just depends on which way the fans will go with it.

He won 44 games in the 4 seasons from 2010-2013 - that's just a fact - whatever caveats you want to put on it.

Why did he recruit him, then?

The handling is as sloppy as Les Miles clock management

That bothers me

Plus my seat fee plus 100 a year seems like a waste BC obviously TAF is okay on money

These recent developments have a couple of ranters very upset
1. Choctaw
2. Tigerinthehollow

I hope they will one day understand that it's for the betterment of the program.

No kidding. More proof that one should be very selective about having Tiger fans as friends IRL. Nothing wrong with wanting change. Attacking an 11 year coach who has done a lot of good here is not just trashy. I'll stop there.

This isn't being handled badly at all. Alleva told miles what was coming and that he could tell the world at anytime or the university will make the announcement after the season. Miles tried to use his backers to fight this thing and it didn't work.

So miles can easily announce he is leaving after the game and all will be well.

Another lsu fan shitting on his own program's accomplishments just because he doesn't like Miles.

We have finished in the top 15 2 of the last 3 years. In no way is that mediocre.

I agree. Chip Kelly really sucked in college and he's got such a sweet gig going in Philly.
