Jarvis Jones was listed as the starting right guard on Okalahoma Sooners depth chart before this season started and i believe he was starting for them when he got injured.

your final point is fricking retarded and doesn't take into account recruiting

Actually, I stated that if the 10 that left are poor, then it supports your point that the talent evaluation (recruiting) is poor.

I understand you love to read your own thoughts but you may want to slow down and try to comprehend the position of those you are arguing with.

In the end, you severely underestimate the value of quality depth on the OL. And, our 3 in the middle are certainly not irreplacable regardless of how loud (or capiitalized) you try to state it.

he didn't sniff their starting 5 last year and was a main factor in their OL sucking arse early this year

so he did start for them this year? and at guard? Zhamal Thomas is listed as 6'4" 343 lbs. guard on Arkansas depth chart, wonder if he would have been able to help us this year?

Arkansas is a rebuilding OL and this guy doesn't even start for them, but he'd play over our 2-year starter at RG, who was a starter when we won the national title?

Does anyone know how the recruiting of O/L & D/L linemen here compares with other schools? Are we getting the top in the country as far as linemen?

If you don't have a disciplined, executing offensive line up front your not going to do as well on the field, even with top knotch talent in the backfield.

Would anyone agree with me that its possible that if a decline of play by the defensive line would cause a decline of play of the offensive line if the 1st team O/L practices against the 1st team D/L?

You only play in a game as good as you practice. Lack of realistic looks at plays during practice equals bad play during games.

As far as o-lineman go, recruiting has gone well and we have signed a lot of quality o-lineman, unfortunately a lot of lineman from the 06 and 07 class have been lost through attrition leaving us very young and inexperienced on the o-line other than 2 seniors and 1 junior. Losing guys who could be starting for us right now or at least giving us quality upperclasmen depth such as Zhamal Thomas, Jarvis Jones, Ernest McCoy,Matt Allen, Kentravious Aubrey, Steven Singelton,Kyle Anderson, Clay Spencer, and some dude named Snyder have left the program. None of these guys most likely would have beaten out Ciron Black, who was penciled in as a starter.

Fact check. Spencer is very much on the team. He is rehabing from preseason surgery.

no fricking shite?

you mean none of these guys, who are failing to start at quality programs (or shite programs) would start over a 3-year starter at LT? seriously?

SFP, how do you see our line next year? Better than this year?

Maybe I'm just being optimistic.. or maybe it's one of those "only one direction to go" type deals.. but I think we'll see improvement.

Studs gotta go though, frick, someones head has to roll.

Spencer was injured in a preseason practice. Ainsworth, a different O-Lineman from Parkview left the team.

This.

OL play can only improve.

Hardrick offers a big body and an experienced JUCO to step in for Black.

Faulk should play as a Guard next year IMO. We have got to get the kid on the field.

Barksdale either stays at RT or potentially moves in at guard.

Josh D should be improved.

Lonergan > T-Bob.

I expect to see Shaw play some next season as well.

Hurst and Blackwell are 2 great 2nd stringers.

The talent there is an improvement over this year.

If we have Alabama's O-Line we are undefeated.

OL is not bad. We've just done an utterly shitty job of putting the right players in the game and playing undersized and mispositioned young guys.

This. Blackwell and Lonergan should have been starting at left guard and center.

No matter if we are rebuilding or not we should be able to be competitive in the SEC West not be dominated by it the last 2 years. If you are Miles you have to beat Bama, Ole Miss, or Arkansas at least 1 time in 2 years.

Great thread dude! Very good analysis. Next year should be better IMO. The O and D lines scare me though as they seem like our weak points. If we get an effective O Coordinator that should REALLY help. If Miles keeps Crowton though next year will be his last. Can't wait TNY!
