And what could we do that year? Pass the ball. My whole point is if you can't throw it's hard to win games.

That's what a passing attack is. If you have a bad passing attack you lose games.

As a man who figured out how to make millions by trolling LSU fans? Seems like a smart guy to me.

My original post was only to point out that shitty teams will have better numbers than LSU. They typically do because all they do is pass. LA Tech, for example.

You went off thinking my post was to suggest that LSU will have a terrible passing attack. I just figured I'd let you sound like an dumbass for a few posts.

Haven't had time to spread my wings yet. Starting with anger and will move on to depression before I see the light.

My arguement was that if the majority of teams in the Ncaa have better passing attacks than us (we were 124th in completion percentage last year) then we will play poorly on offense. I understand Toledo will throw for 400 yards a game but that was not my arguement. Sorry if I misunderstood what you were saying at the beginning but no need to namecall.

No, your point WAS that we only had a dominant running game in 2011, and you hadn't seen one since. You were wrong. Your future apology is accepted, though.

"What that tells me is that the offense will stay, for the most part, the same. It is not Cam Cameron's offense."

Detillier doesn't know what the hell is he talking about here & his comments are to rustle the already rustled portion of the fanbase.

quote:

LSU is obviously going to be a run-first team again in 2015, with Leonard Fournette emerging as a player truly worthy of Heisman buzz by the end of last season, and the Tigers have plenty of talent behind him. They may not run it nearly 70 percent of the time again in 2015, as they did in 2014, but run it they will.

When LSU does throw, will Cameron be able to take advantage of the skills his quarterbacks do have? The Texas A&M game last fall provided a glimpse into what the offense could look like, with zone-read looks that gave Jennings the chance to get out in space to throw or run. With a loaded corps or wide receivers, LSU has to utilize the talent on hand by throwing effectively.

On top of that, defensive players have talked this spring about how Cameron has thrown a variety of new looks at them, things they haven’t seen the Tigers offense do before.

Could all of that mean Cameron is ready to adapt to the talent he has on hand? While getting major improvement out of the quarterback position is vital to LSU’s success in ’15, Cameron’s skills as a game planner will be close behind.

Jennings is Les Miles guy till he graduate's an Brandon Harris is Cam's guy sad thing bout this is why did we hire Cam if we aren't gonna let him take our offense to the next level? No defense can thrive with an offense like this all those constant 3an outs any defense will eventually break and wear down at the end. In the sec west 10 points or 14 points is not enough to be no better than a third or fourth place finisher. Just my opinion on how predictable our system is becoming, three yards an a cloud of dust is old an boring. The qb issues are way pass just flat out ridiculous, how does such a prominent program have these qb issues so often boggles my mind. I'm a diehard LSU fan an any thing less than competing for championships is just pure horse crap!

Arkansas despite them having a bad defense

That is dead wrong. Their defense was pretty damn good. How'd that "bad defense" do against the #1 offense in the SEC?

Until Les stops being afraid of letting his QB (Harris or Jennings) make plays in the passing game, neither the offense nor the QBs will ever thrive.

The game plan is the same EVERY GAME:

Run, run, run;
Take a few limited "safe" shots in the passing game with the hopes of hitting a big play or two
Avoid doing anything that may increase the risk of a turnover
Hope (expect?) the defense to keep the game tight throughout
Win late in the 4th Quarter
Rinse and repeat.

The problem is when you are content to constantly play on the razor's edge sometimes the plays are going to go against you at the end. Like clockwork, LSU seems to always have at least 2 games each season that go that way.

This. Exactly this.
