Nope...there are several publications that have Neal in first round....this isn't the only site projecting lots of first rounders. But, there will be a host of negatigers here shortly to tell you these publications are just trying to get clicks that we may have 2 or 3 first rounders...if we are lucky.

Has to be. Neal is not a first round pick. Even if he produces as much next year as he did this past season, he's still not a 1st round pick. Just on measurables alone he's probably a bit too small to be a top choice at DE and who knows if he's good enough in space to be an OLB.

He plays very hard. He had a good season. However, a lot of the "hype" came from his game against Florida when, for that night, he looked like the best player on the field. He was no where to be found against Bama, Ole Miss and Ark. I'd love to be wrong, but I just don't see it.

Oakland wouldnt be a terrible place to live, but bleh the Raiders.

First they have Murray.

Second they have a great up and coming QB and two stud WR's. That'd be a great place to end up

I love Lewis Neal, but that guy is smoking crack putting him in the Top 15 overall

coming off an 8 sack year as a 1st year starter is pretty impressive.

If he builds off of that and runs well i dont see why he cant be a high pick

You can point to his size and lack of consistent productions last season as reasons why he isn't an early rounder at this point.

I agree that if he can show more consistent production, particularly against the top competition, combined with good combine numbers he'll garner some more attention. But size-wise he's a tweener.

I can - Measureables, it means everything that high up in the draft. Production just gets you noticed, if you dont project well to the NFL, you arent going in the Top 15

Like I said, he was a first year starter. 8 sacks in the SEC, not bad.

There are a ton of really good NFL edge players his size. I can list some if you want

Fournette, Malachi, and Adams are top half of first round picks.

I don't see any other slam dunks. But the following guys are on the cusp of being first rounders:

White, Godchaux

And the following guys could play themselves into round one:

Dural, Beckwith, Neal

And you're right, he'll need a solid year of consistent production and a good combine. For the tons of guys his size in the NFL you can list, there are an equal or greater number of guys that aren't.

LSU does indeed have 7 players drafted in the first round next year then anything short of a NC championship game apperance is unacceptable. That would be a total coaching failure.

Most of the talent comin back next season is high draft picks if not first. Most of these guys named on her, but also including LaCouture and the TE talent Smith and Jeter if they had the ball thrown to them on a regular damn basis to put up some production. Those guys will be steals in the late rounds. So, yeah anything short of a NC is a complete failure.

That pretty much describes Tyson Jackson, and he went #3 overall.
