No clue why people continue to attack this kid. He did nothing wrong or out of line. If he was so terrible like some here say, then he was doing LSU a favor by transferring out.

Clearly he wasn't happy at LSU for whatever reason.

When he committed to LSU he was going to win multiple national championships. When he transferred he all of a sudden sucks.

He sure was quick to get in Daniels face after the final incompletion of the Ole Miss game. Maybe his long term role is to congratulate the losing qb as quickly as possible after a game.

Way overrated and he's tiny for a power program.

I get it you grew up around the program and it’s your dream but if you’re not coming into a situation where they need you to start as a sophomore you should just go elsewhere.

For example he could have went to a Big12 school and probably start by now.

I disagree. When Walker Howard committed to LSU (under Orgeron) , there was room in the rotation for him. The, something happened after the fact that changed that: Brian Kelly came in and brought Jayden Daniels out of the portal. After that, he had to transfer. It very well could have worked out very different.

The same thing could have happened to Arch at Texas. Ewers starts last year, Murphy as the redshirt freshman backs up and Arch the true freshman is #3. Ewers goes down, Murphy slides in to start several games. Ewers decides to stay another year. Sarkesian has to choose between experience and high profile recruit. He chooses the latter and Murphy transfers. If he had chosed Murphy, Arch would have transferred. No one did anything wrong, it's just the reality of the transfer portal for QBs.

He's most certainly taller and bigger than Bryce Young and had good arm strength.

Howard was a polished product as a Jr. he may not be developing like needed. But make no mistake, that dude was as accurate as any QB I’ve ever seen.

How so? He still sits the bench, but an inferior program where his family name means nothing...

Wasn't there some griping from Jamie Howard about how Walker Howard didn't come to LSU to run the scout team.

I never really understood the 5 star hype. He's fairly short and doesn't really "wow" you physically. That's not to say he can't or won't be a good college QB. It's just that nothing really pops of the film and a lot of his hype came from camp performances...not necessarily game performances.

I think the transfer was really just a matter of it being a different coaching staff than the one that originally recruited him to LSU. He was recruited by Orgeron's staff and committed in the summer of 2020. I think it was because of his LSU ties that he stuck with the commitment even though he would be playing under a completely different coaching staff. After one season he probably decided the staff wasn't for him and chose to leave.

I don't think he went to Ole Miss because he thought it provided an easier path to starting immediately. I think it was more a matter of Kiffen being thought of as a good QB coach, in QB-friendly offense. Plus, there are many Louisiana non-athlete kids who choose to attend Ole Miss.

LSU picked Howard out of the probably best back to back qb class Louisiana has had in decades.

3 high 4/5 stars and an additional solid 4 star.

That’s unheard of for LA and we put our eggs in the Howard basket which screwed us over for Holstein and Manning. Not a problem assuming the kid has similar commitment. He then bolted at the first opportunity and not only bolted but went to an in conference in division historical rival.

If you don’t see that as an understandable issue you are an idiot.

Wasn’t Kelly and notre dame the “runner up” in his recruitment?

This is one thing I never really understood. I know Howard is a legacy, but it's not like his dad is an LSU legend. Well, he is a legend, but for all the wrong reasons.

He did

Are you insinuating he should jump ship again?

He should’ve gone somewhere like Tulane instead of OM. He’d be starting there this year and would still get plenty exposure.
