Was at the game, in the student section. That game was referenced in my mind as Jones punted in the BCS 2004 National Championship game and the time on the clock ticked down to 0. We went from that game, to winning a title in ten years. Pretty amazing watching the build up in those ten years!

And the guy that said there was a humor about how much we sucked is absolutely right. We milked the shite out of 1958 and the "good ole days" as LSU fans back then. It was all we had to go by to find any kind of pride as fans.

Very surprised to discover that 60,060 were in attendance.

I was there and more fans stayed until the end than this years Auburn game had in the 4th quarter

I was 15. My dad and I were there in our regular seats in the south end zone. There was a guy sitting next to us who scalped a ticket and was getting kind of mouthy when we elected to kick the FG instead of going for it on 4th down on the opening drive (taking the 3-0) lead. He was kind of ranting and raving about it and people in the section were getting pretty pissed.

My dad got him to sit down and just started talking to him just to keep a fight from breaking out, or the guy getting tossed. Turns out he was an officer on leave from the Army and gone through ROTC at LSU. He told my dad all about his patriot missile battery in Saudi Arabia and stuff. Made the drubbing at least interesting.

Stayed till it was 0:00 on the clock, since we knew it was probably the low ebb of the history of LSU football.

I was at the game. I never thought I would see the day when LSU would be competing for a National Championship. I thought how cool it would be just to be able to go to a bowl game. How spoiled are we now?

Watched it with my brother at the fishing camp. Cold front. Didn't catch shite that day either.

Eddie was still golden, though.

Sat through that. But I think the lowest had to be the loss to s. miss in a nice steady rain.

If I'm not mistaken I had a sunburn from HELL from that game ... Remember a "weurful is a fig" sign hanging from an overpass (college or Acadian??).

I was there, as a member of TGBFTL, and it was miserable...but that was one of the reasons that the '97 game was sooo sweeeet!!!
