He only had 3 carries late. Did he get injured?

I'm hearing he had some sort of confrontation with the head coach about replacing McEvoy with Stave.

Its been posted that he had a hamstring issue and that could be true. He said he was fine and able to play after the game. Who knows?

Ive seen conflicting reports.... some are reporting he tweaked a hammy after his 60yard run to start the half. Then Gordon said he was ok. But it looked like he came up lame on that run.

If he wasnt hurt, then that coach is dumb.

quote:

“I was good, man,” Gordon said when asked about the lack of playing time. “I was all good. “They went with Corey… I’m a little sore. Obviously you get hit…but I’m A-OK.”

Corey Clement, who had one carry for 4 yards in the first half, carried 14 times for 41 yards and a touchdown after halftime.

“Just coach’s choice,” Clement said when asked why he played more than Gordon in the second half.

“Melvin is perfectly fine. Melvin has his time and I have my time. I just try to make the most of my opportunities.”

Senior right tackle Rob Havenstein was asked if he wondered why Gordon spent so much time idling on the sideline in the second half.

“That’s not my call,” Havenstein said. “I’m not the offensive coordinator. If I was I’d be making a whole lot more money.

Sounds odd.

Most of the time when someone is putting up good numbers and then you don't see them in the game they have tweaked something

Gordon had 4 carries after his long run. He had no gain once, lost 2 yards twice and gaind 3 yards once. The one time he gained 3 yards on first down they had a false start on 2nd down as they were handing him the ball and were back to 2nd and 12. It looked like Known Alexander was run blitzing him every play he was in the second half. Point is on every series after they went up 24-7 we got them in 2nd down and 10-12 yards and 3rd and longs. We were stacking the box and daring them throw. They either went 3&out or we got a pick.

Gordon did play in 5 of their 6 second half series and 4 of the 5 series after they went up 24-7. The problem was LSU had Alexander spying and run blitzing him up the middle along with a safety walked up on the corner. They had to try something else. Chavis had sold out to stop the run.

Edit... He was in on the last series when they punted from their endzone... Not hurt.
