Yes, I immediately said this live watching it in TS, but the guy he held would have never made a play.

no, he was employing the Bama Block which has been deemed legal by the SEC, basically it involves holding onto the opponents jersey until the runner passes you by, then releasing.

LIVE, I saw hands far inside the shoulder pads... and as always proclaimed by the announcers, that's legal. If I recall, he got him midbody, near the armpit, with a beautiful legal hold.

No. "Holding" is a penalty. There was no penalty called on the play.
