Holy shite I am so glad I didn't waste my time watching that.

That's blatant. It really is. There is no way you can't say that's not corruption.

The go to phrase

Maybe the ump just sucks? Why would an umpire fix a game for Arkansas? Oh, let me guess. The SEC hates LSU

Not really. Catchers need to be selective when they frame a pitch that is not in the strike zone. It needs to be somewhat close. Just like NBA players can't claim they were fouled every time they go to the rim, you can't frame every fricking pitch or you will never get the call. But this umpire was such an idiot that the ends justified the means.

What is so funny? You think the calls just went one way? Or do you think LSU pitchers showed control?

The ump was bad, but he was bad both ways. LSU struggled with control. You have to throw it near the zone to get borderline, or in this case, just past borderline, calls to go your way.

Catchers are framing 100% of pitches anywhere near the zone. It's how you correctly receive as a catcher. No ump worth a shite is calling balls and strikes based off where a catchers glove ends up. I don't think this ump was. He was just bad at his job.

I watched the game. Maybe this was the case but it did not seem this way.

Maybe someone can post a clip of an Arky batter getting a similar bad call.

There’s a difference between framing a pitch and blatantly pulling the ball back to the strike zone.

Catcher framed it nicely

Did he? He caught it sideways where the point of his elbow was visible to the ump then jerked the shite out of it halfway into the strike zone. It really wasn’t a nice frame which is even more embarrassing for the ump

Really?? An umpire with a clue would be laughing at a catcher raising a ball a foot and a half to try and buy a strike.

There were a few. Maybe not as many, but I attribute that to our pitchers inability to hit the spots. The ump was incompetent, not corrupt. Many, many blatantly bad calls.

Hate to say it but Holman would have had a field day with that ump. He loved calling off speed strikes.

After pulling the ball a foot and a half back inside the zone:

Arkansas definitely is #1 in the cheating umpire department. Will be interesting if they start racking up loses on the road in SEC play.

There were some. Not nearly as many. But again, that has more to do with LSU pitchers missing miles away from the zone.

Home plate umpires are the sport’s equivalent of real estate agents: worthless.

Disagree. That's not "framing", that's jerking a pitch WAY out of the zone back into the zone. IMHO, framing is catching a pitch just out/on the black and moving the mitt back into the zone.

By the end of the game the batters were completely lost on what was a strike and what was a ball

So he was he. On no less than 2 occasions 2 pitches were in the same spot called a strike. Then the 3rd pitch was right there again. Ball. Lol and I’m talking about what he was giving them. Just overall inconsistent.
