He had to move his glove up almost a foot to get it to his knees. Horrible call but LSU wasn’t getting that call

Here is an easy cue for the ump. If the catcher has to drag a pitch a foot back into the zone, the pitch was a ball.

Lynn Rollins….as an ex-umpire….said the same thing on a recent broadcast.

A few weeks back someone posted a link to a website that had the trackman data and you could see the results of each at bat.

Does anybody know what that site is for NCAA baseball? It's similar to baseball savant but I don't see Ncaa baseball?

Im very curious to see what the strike zone results were from last night and what kind of grade the SEC would give that ump. He was terrible and gave Arkansas many questionable calls. His strike zone was way different then other umps SEC strike zone.

Last night was as bad as I’ve seen at the college level. We didn’t seem to get the same calls but the arms we threw last night did not locate their pitches very well. Their misses were really bad and their strikes catch way too much plate. We should see our better arms pitch tonight and Sat.

LSU had plenty of these calls go their way last night too. Let it go. LSU played a great game against the #1 team in the nation with the best pitcher in the nation. Meanwhile, LSU made it a bullpen day.

Catcher framed it nicely

Not sure why you're getting downvoted, but he did frame it nicely. He catches the ball a few inches off the ground but his mitt is at least a foot higher when the ump makes the call.

Anyone saying they were giving the same calls to LSU didn't watch the game. I will say that there were a couple of what looked strikes thrown by Ark pitchers that the ump called balls but that may just have been a payback call. Not sure WTF he was seeing as he was all over the place when LSU was batting so the 19 strike outs don't impress me and with all of that BS LSU was in the game until the last 2 innings. So not sure what all the vitriol is for this team playing at ARK with that ump.

Does that change the fact that the ump made some of the worst calls I've seen in years? It affected the game. That dude should be disciplined for his incompetence.

Catcher framed it nicel

Surprised he didn’t pop his shoulder out of socket jerking that ball back in 3 feet.

A) It was a bad call

It was worse than that. Even KP said a foot and a half out the zone

Thats discipline level. That guy should not be calling ncaa level games

Atrocious call but doubt it's anything other than a terrible call, which has been happening since the dawn of officiated sports.

The biggest difference today vs any point in history up until the last decade is availability of widespread video evidence. Nearly every human has a video camera in their hands.

Officiating at all levels of baseball, football, and basketball needs an overhaul but athletic leadership in schools and orgs--including professional teams and collegiate/professional regulators--are too passive to do anything about it.

Also: Patrick Peterson was inbounds.

Ehhh, we got a call back a few batters later that was a strike 3.
But yes it was awful.

That's blatant. It really is. There is no way you can't say that's not corruption.

Only a pussy would say it’s corruption. It was a terrible call, and there were a lot of them, but it wasn’t cheating.

This is fricking unacceptable. I'm not saying the game last night turned on several horrendous strike calls, but the game last night turned on several horrendous strike calls.

DISGUSTING

Shame on the SEC.

**end melt**

All good. I already called the OP a pussy in my first reply for even starting this thread. Got you covered, tough guy.

“Framing” it nicely would be very little to no movement of the mitt. He Framed it terribly, which is more of a reason this ump was a joke. The Catcher may need to get his rotator cuff checked.
