Use Bowl Game as a Test for Nuss. If he fails, use a transfer

Nuss has been enough with LSU for last couple of years to be familiar with the offense. Give me all the bowl practices. Make him play against a stout ND defense. If he shows some promise, well and good. If not, get a transfer. cant go into the season with an unproven QB room. What say Rant?

OR regardless of how he plays get a quality transfer QB and have them COMPETE to be QB 1.

Nuss should see some time in the bowl game, just like last year, if the defense isn't getting gashed.

He played in the bowl game last year and played well, except for one underthrow. We already know he can play and thrive in Denbrock's offense.

As OP stated, he needs first team reps. He should get those in the spring.

I am not in favor of bringing in a portal transfer. Collins is here. He's had a year in the system. We need to ensure his development. Bringing in another QB will only take reps away from him.

We should just stop recruiting QBs and just get one who wants to quit his team out the portal every year

I’ll take a Daniels every couple of years, regardless of whether he “quits his team”.

Nuss showed promise vs UGA in '22.

Not gonna dismiss the OP's suggestion out of hand. However, I would exercise caution in taking this course: there are a lot of QBs who may struggle in a first start who later become top-shelf players.

IMO, the Jayden we saw the last ten weeks and who should win the Heisman with little protest, is not the Jayden we saw vs FSU. Glad we stuck with him and he stuck with us.

And when Nuss gets a "core" injury or slips and breaks his arm, you're comfortable rolling with Rickie Collins for the rest of the season? Madness.

And if your transfer-in QB gets concussed (vs Bama) or injured (vs UGA) aren’t we right back in the same predicament?

It's a tricky current for HCs to navigate. If standing QBs know the HC will bump them in favor of a more experienced transfer, why stick around?

Some of yall are nuts.

Thinking that a performance like JD had this season comes around often, thinking that a team like ‘19 comes around often too.

Those are incredibly rare things that most fanbases will never experience.

But you guys think it’ll just happen again in 2-4 years.

Regardless, there’s really nothing after Nuss. They badly need a transfer stopgap next year and some better QB recruiting

Do fans know Collins is not ready?
Pre season, after Spring practice, all the talking heads were saying Georgia and Alabama do not have a competent starting QB.
One loss between them.
Now there is speculation, Beck may enter the draft.

This thread is proof positive that most fans don't know shiite. . .

And no. At this point, nobody knows whether Collins should be playing QB for a D1 program or waterdude.

Has JD5 made a decision about playing or not playing in a bowl.game?

Only if JD5 decides to not participate. And I think that is unlikely.
