Harris needs to start. It will correct one problem. Now, figure out why a veteran o-line is putrid, why Welter and Martin are on the field, and change an antiquated offensive philosophy, the team might get better.

Did you see Harris elude pressure, roll out and get rid of the ball? Jennings had the ol deer in a headlight look, while Harris sensed pressure and made quick decisions. Again, I don't know if Harris can lead this team to the playoff, but hell, would you pull your mid relief pitcher if he was pitching a no hitter through 2 innings? No, you leave the hot hand in.

The sad thing is that Harris would've never seen the field if it weren't for Jennings' injury. Miles would've ridden Jennings all the way to a 22 point loss.

He's made strides though, so that's pretty big

He's been the better player since the spring when he was only had been on campus for like 3 months.

I agreed with going with Jennings to start the year, but now seems like the time to turn it over to Brandon. Let him get the majority of reps vs New Mexico St and see what he's got.

I want Harris to start but even if he doesn't the real issue is our offensive philosophy. the power i is complete and utter garbage. we can't run 1 wr routes and it just stupidity to continue to run it out over and over. We need to be in at least 3 wide shotgun every play with some combo of terrance, hilliard, buga and williams in the back field. No more neighbors, no more tightends, no more iform.

I will only agree until the first tackler shows up. If it wasn't for the recruiting hype nobody would think he was our best back.

Who cares.

AJ will start and unless he gets hurt, we will see less and less of BH as the season goes on.

Knowing Miles, he will use BH's int on the Hail Mary as the reason.

Also seems that Harris is in sync with another true freshman that DIDNT drop passes that were in his hands. Dupre is a big, sure handed, fast target.

Yeah, the chemistry and trust between those two is pretty evident and that's a big thing. Really looking forward to the many Harris-to-Dupre plays we will see in the future (whenever that is).

Harris just looked sharp last night and had good command of the line and good reads/awareness. He was also confident in his throws. That 20-ish yard strike to Dural on the sideline the play before the hail mary was a thing of beauty. Dropped it in perfectly.

and fans will stop going to games. Miles is really ignorant if he thinks Jennings is better at this point. All the Jennings fans shut the frick up today. Where they at now?

BH did not run the LSU offense when he played. That was also against a prevent defense. Let's see what BH looks like while running the crappy offense our coaches continue to stick with when games aren't out of hand in the 4th qtr.

Well, all BS asside, I think the coaching staff should look now at building somethin for next year. Not looking this week at what specific plan for NMS or whatever team is ahead, but looking at what players to invest the rest if this year into, that will give the team the best foundation for next year. It will be an uphill battle the rest of the way, losing opportunities to develope players, if the staff looks at this season one game at a time.

ETA: I don't know who the right choice is, but the staff should and must.

AJ is supposedly a running QB... But he can't run, he is slow AF.... Let's go with BH and see what we have with him

Yeah, this was supposed to be our strength and allow our young guys to ease into their roles by taking pressure off of them and being able to run at teams.

We played right into the strength of the Miss St D last night, time and time again. We all knows Miles is stubborn and will hardly ever deviate away from his gameplan of running the ball, but when you're having little success and you're in a multiple TD hole, it's time to make some adjustments and at least try and exploit their weakness to neutralize their strength. Pretty poor coaching last night.

I know it's a gross over reaction, but I say Harris, spread O, no huddle or up tempo. If you're going to go down, at least go down firing.

I was hoping when we were down 24 points that Harris would come in, we would go 4 wide with Dural, Dupre, Diarse, Quinn; put LF in the backfield and he can go in motion to make 5 wide (or keep him back there to come out of the backfield), and just let 'er rip. There was nothing to lose at that point.

One other opinion I have on the subject is that I have been around sports enough to know that there is a difference between getting the nod from the sideline or dugout and practicing all week knowing you will start. That's why in every sport there are starters and those who come off the bench. Not everyone can succeed in both roles, so it still boils downs to a staff decision and not the fans who really only see game day performance. I coached many kids who practice off the chain but freeze up in games. It takes a coach a long time to give up on players like that.

If AJ hits some of the many open receivers last night the game would have been different. I think Harris even running the same shitty offense would have hit those open receivers and we are in a better mood this morning.
