Interesting article, not sure what to make of it.LINK

What I make of it is that this was more of a personality conflict between this girl and others on the team. It’s not clear if race was the direct cause of the issue.

It appears that the situation was not handled well by any of the parties involved.

As someone from the Deep South but no longer live there, only in that area is not saying the N-word an “unspoken rule”, everyone else knows not to say that word. Whether in conversation or a song. What year do y’all think it is?

If there is any value in the "Portal' this is a good use of it....Freshman, not fitting in and being miserable goes to another school with full disclosure of what she said and is accepted. Making more money, trying to coattail on a possible championship team, or just being ungrateful pos are not good use of the portal...

However, the bullying part is less clear. AJ says it happened, but the 2 UCLA gymnasts at the forefront of the issue gave an hour long interview on a podcast, and completely denied the bullying. (specifically the fish in the gym bag rumor). So someone is not telling the truth.

Well they bullshitted the story about where the n-word was uttered. Why tell the truth about bullying the girl?

It's young women and it's sjw bullshite mixed together. They are just discovering the power they can wield by accusing people of racist or sexist behavior in a university setting. Of course they are gonna exaggerate and blow everything out of proportion and take things out of context for their war. I'm surprised a noose of some sort wasn't seen in a locker.

Lol only a true POS would think not saying the N-word was some sort of submissive act as opposed to displaying human decency

I have no idea who is lying and who is telling the truth, but both sides have good reason to make themselves look like the victim here. I think it’s important to know exactly what the truth really is. If AJ is telling the truth, great! If she lied to Jay, ACK, or anyone else involved, that’s not someone you want on the team. I don’t care one way or the other about AJ. I do care about the girls on the team right now. I don’t want anyone or anything to screw up the culture they have place.

Funny how those " unspoken things " only run one way.

White supremacy is a prime example of this.

I get that too and it should be a concern about bringing someone in with such allegations

But each gymnast was consulted on this on an individual level, the girls were in contact with UCLAs gymnasts over the situation, ACK and more administrators were involved in evaluating the situation. All of them seemed to be in agreement to take her in and move forward. If the gymnasts and ACK especially are fine with this move, we should be too. I think LSU handled this as well as they could have. They didn’t just openly take an athlete for the sake of scores. They went through every avenue possible to make a rational decision instead of acting based off the Twitter mob

Every day that goes by, UCLA looks more and more toxic and divided by the day, excluding the AJ situation. There are deeper problems down there

The girls on the team at UCLA sound like a mentally unstable bunch. It sounds like an insane woke BLM shite hole of a program.

quote:

Black gymnasts cited other micro-aggressions from coaches

quote:

The coaches told the Bruins they were concerned about the mental health of the gymnast accused of using the N-word and urged teammates to be more tolerant. The perceived prioritizing the non-Black gymnast’s concerns over those of Black gymnasts only added to the tension, especially after coaches told some Black gymnasts their teammate felt “scared” or “intimidated” by them, according to gymnasts on the team.

quote:

After two gymnasts told The Times a teammate used a racial slur, which prompted a university response that some gymnasts of color found to be insufficient, the Bruins produced their worst team score in seven years.

I agree with everything you said....as I do with all of your posts, really. The only thing holding me back on being totally on board is WHICH UCLA gymnasts were consulted. If it was just AJ’s friends on the team, then they’re probably going to back her story up. Based on the podcast I listened to, it doesn’t sound like Margzetta Frazier and Sekai Wright were spoken to, because their version of what happened seems to be very different. To me, truth matters.

I 100% support Jay and how he handled the situation to the best of his abilities. And whatever happens, I’ll always support the team.

Would be great if those concerned about the use of an offensive word, would spend the energy confronting black on black crime in our major cities. The old saying "sticks and stones may break..." comes to mind.

So someone can't get upset with someone using the N word around them unless they fight "black on black crime"? Do you even listen to yourself?

The remaining UCLA gymnasts are now trying to run off the coach. Toxic group that is destroying the program.
The Margzetta chicken sounds like a piece of work. Supposedly wanted the now LSU girl to be suspended for a couple of meets.

I wouldn't rule out how much NIL may be affecting this whole situation. The Margzetta girl and another gymnast supposedly had a couple of floor routines go viral as they were set to some modern music. Was this new girl supposed to do floor and liked the same genre? Was that going to interfere with their NIL since they were better on balance beam?
