The more footage I see, the more I believe the LSU coaches brought Etling in because they believe the guy who doesn't become the starter will transfer. All signs right now are pointing to that guy being Jennings, and losing your starting job to a guy a year younger is a tough pill to swallow. I hope he doesn't give up, but from the outside it looks like Harris is running away with this thing.

That video is a little unfair to Jennings and Harris. The full video shows about 10-15 passes and most of them from both QBs were right on the money outside of a couple drops. Then Jennings threw that duck and Harris overthrew and that's all we get in that clip

I wasn't just commenting on just that particular video but more so a combination of the passing videos that were released from the practices so far.

Also, Jennings body language hasn't been great at all. He doesn't seem to be going through these drills with much confidence. When he's off target on a throw, his shoulders start sagging in disappointment. It's not a good look for a player who is supposed to be a team leader.

I feel sorry for you if you can't pick up on Jennings body language from all of the videos of camp so far.

Nobody is putting him down. People are just commenting on what they observe. If you don't like it, log out.

I could have also sworn I said on the page I hope he comes around because he maybe needed at some point.

I really hope he pulls it together though just in case the time comes where he is needed.

That would have been the throw out of the end zone while having the poise to step up & throw a strike while avoiding the Arkansas pass rush.

Now where did I put Jennings down at any point?

What is all this sunshine pumping, peoples asses and sunburned colons talk about. It's four days in to summer camp and some of you guys are already writing Jennings off, we will need him this year and probably next. How about if we as fans of LSU football let it play out and hope that all of our QB's are capable of leading this team. WTF

Jennings will be able start for a fcs team if he transfers next year. Delaware had a good one with the ravens qb

No shite.

I read the comments before I watched the vid. It's amazing what people can draw out of 1-3 throws from each qb, to one receiver on one route, with zero defenders. I mean are we really trying to get on the Etling train already? Jennings looks dejected/defeated? It was hard to tell the guys apart pre-snap, and how about you go try and play a game of catch in nearly full pads when the heat index is nearly 120, probably going to look a tad sluggish yourself.

From my perspective, strictly from an arm talent perspective, the top 2 guys look like they are relatively better than the other by a pretty wide margin on certain throws. Jennings actually looks really solid with the short passing game, with great timing and decent release speed. Anyone that things Coach Cam isn't taking note of how well he can execute that fullback flat route really is clueless as to which guy will get more PT (In the sense that small things like that have an impact). Harris has that borderline elite velocity on the ball that makes his intermediate passing game look so great; that skill alone is why he is why he turns so many heads, as it can get almost impossible to defend. If he could channel that a bit more, it would help to string together drives, as he looks to have a bit of trouble taming it on screens and short flat routes. I don't think that anyone can deny that Jennings has a really pretty touch on his deep ball. He just seems to drop it so softly on the receiver. He isn't the most accurate, so it seems like he excels more on go routes than anything else, since that throw is essentially just out in front of the WR. On the other hand, Harris' velocity sort of hurts him in the deep ball category at times, when the ball comes down a bit hard onto the receiver. However, I think that velocity helps him perform better on other deep routes like a post where he may need to beat a safety and not have the ball hang for so long.

Clearly, Harris seems to be more of the fan favorite, and I think the simple reason is that his actual throws are a bit less risky. They just get there in such a hurry, it sort of eliminates some of that fear that our fans (or seemingly our staff) has of throwing in the middle of the field, which just opens up the entire offense. He also has more big play potential on his feet, whereas Jennings is a bit more crafty of a runner that can find the sticks (which I also think if he felt a bit more confident earlier in the year in doing this, would have garnered more faith from the fans).

I personally think both guys have a lot of talent, and am rooting for both of them, and would love to see them each graduate as Tigers and contribute to championships. Both guys were young last year, and had a ton of youth around them which is just really hard to win with in the SEC. We will be better this year, regardless of who the QB is. By the way, does anybody else think that #7 fella looks pretty good out there?

Stephen Rivers should just give up football if AJ took his spot.

You cannot be serious. Every post leading up to yours could be seen as putting him down. Another post said that Etling looked really good, based on one routine pass. Let's just be honest, our fans are harder on Jennings than any other player in recent memory.

People are just commenting on what they observe.

Is that not what he just did as well?

Ah, so people are free to comment on what they observe, but you want to chase them out if they aren't observing the same things you are.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Tiger Rant.

Since when did "sunshine pumping" start to describe simply not being ridiculously negative and jumping to irrational judgments?

It wouldn't bother me as much except for the fact that you jackasses actually show up at the games and scream the same stupid shite.

People have a right to their opinion and Jennings deserves all the criticism he gets.

That "Kid" was not an SEC Championship caliber QB to start with and then he takes it up a notch with the apartment break in. Not really that interested in having a starting QB at LSU with that poor of a decision making process.

Could be that he's not looking too good in practice because of mental distractions caused by preoccupation with thoughts of whether Georgia State or Georgia Southern would be a better school to transfer to.

Most of us would have no problem with an AJ transfer back to Georgia.

McMillan could probably step in right now and do what he does with the same degree of efficiency and effectiveness..............
