I think AJ is a good kid with a lot of talent, but the fact Georgia or Georgia Tech didn't offer him speaks volumes.
We owe it to our receiver recruits to sign QB's with enough arm talent to get them the football,in addition to intangibles.

Is it just me or are the WR's dropping a lot of catchable balls?
Posted on 8/10/15 at 6:44 am to The Egg
I can understand that throw. Come
On guys you know how uncomfortable when you are prepared to scramble and the defense simply isn't there? I mean there were no reads to make so it can be awkward.

Yep.

I noticed that as well. Dupre doesn't seem focused. Hopefully practice is a lot different after the media is kicked out.

Ah, so people are free to comment on what they observe, but you want to chase them out if they aren't observing the same things you are.
No but don't twist my comments under illusion that I was bashing Jennings when clearly I wasn't. Maybe you should have taken that into consideration before you came in knighting for another poster.

This.... Although, it does seem like they aren't going 100% (the WRs that is).

McMillan could probably step in right now and do what he does with the same degree of efficiency and effectiveness..............
True freshman in pro style offenses are not a good combination. I seriously doubt McMillan can do anything efficiency & effectively without a true grasp of the play calls, pre snap reads, pre snap line adjustments & chemistry with his fellow receivers. In no shape or form should anyone be pulling to see McMillan taking significant snaps under center this year because if he is, the team is in trouble offensively.

I read an article yesterday, maybe on Nola.com, that said Etling and McMillan have better mechanics than either Harris or AJ had upon arrival.

Dude, read the first page. You said no one was downing the kid, people clearly were, and the comments were ridiculous, which is pretty simply what the guy I was "knighting" for said.
I mean the dude made one simple comment and you are ready to kick him off the board.

Harris' pass was just off the guy's fingertips.

Why? We didn't offer dak as a QB until way late, it happens sometimes. GT is a triple option team, not sure how this is applicable.

I was obviously speaking for myself & not other posters especially since your knighting buddy seemed to address a post I made. Get your head out of your arse man.

What I find funny is that everyone here is in the Harris camp, myself included. Yet the couple of people I know who are former players are all saying Jennings looks better. I just saw it again on facebook from a guy I know who played for LSU. He said Jennings has better footwork and it more accurate on short and intermediate passes. Harris had lazy footwork and was throwing high on the shorter passes which would get the receiver killed and increase the possibility of the ball getting popped in the air and picked off.
I personally can't tell much of a difference in the footwork between the 2 of them. I can see Harris throwing the ball a touch high on short passes, but that's all easily corrected too.

The players have only been in camp for a week. There are four more weeks until the first game.
Most importantly, fans really haven't seen anything on which to make an accurate assessment.
I've seen threads analyzing gauntlet drills. Gauntlet drills! :smh:
This may be the best view so far. The QBs look fairly equivalent. A bad throw here and there for both of them.

That "Kid" was not an SEC Championship caliber QB to start with and then he takes it up a notch with the apartment break in.
quote:Did you want Lee to transfer after 2008?
Could be that he's not looking too good in practice because of mental distractions caused by preoccupation with thoughts of whether Georgia State or Georgia Southern would be a better school to transfer to.
quote:He can't transfer back to Georgia if he never transferred from Georgia.
Most of us would have no problem with an AJ transfer back to Georgia.
quote:Sure. Right. True freshmen always do so well right out of the gate. Did you want Harris to start the Auburn game?

He is not alone, and this can be a concern when some guys know they are going to play no matter what.
He has too much talent not to shine, as does Dural, they will be fine come game time. I think we will see big things from all of our receivers this fall, and I fully trust Coach Ball to have them ready, he is that good!

Agreed Stephen Rivers had to be terrible..Losing out to Jennings and three other qb's at vandy.
