False, most were still pissed from the last two years.

Miles cost us in 2006 too. We should have won that AU game despite the refs.

Mostly true.
So much potential yet so much underachieving.

right on. if the rest of the team was mediocre i wouldn't be as concerned. we got a chance to do great things if our O can step it up.

Our O hasn't stepped it up since the end of 2007. What leads you to believe this year will be different.

True
And, its not just that for me. We have a lot of talent on offense, so the offense should be better. We have elite, NFL-type talent at WR, but in the first few games we did not get the QB in a rhythm with them. Instead we had him running indecisively on option plays apparently to open up the middle of the defense for Ridley, which maybe has been somewhat successful. But throwing the ball can do the same thing. I think the whole situation has messed with Jefferson's head. We might just need a fresh start with Lee at this point, or a new OC.

JJ would not start with a new OC

SO you really beleive that if the rest of our team wasnt as good this year and our fan base didnt see that the only thing holding this team back from being a championship team was offense, people would still feel as bitter towards the offense?

With the defense and special teams unit being on a championship level, we feel super frustrated that the offense cant even be on a WAC level!
I agree that the offense is painful... but you do realize that people are calling to fire the same coach that has everything else at the "championship level" that you are so stoked about, right???

Yea because none of that matters if the third part cant pull through. A chain is only as strong as the weakest link!

but if he was able to strengthen what used to be the weakest link(s), then why do people demand that he is too stupid/stubborn to fix this one?
And ftr, I have thought for a year now that Crowton is a drain on this team, and wish he was long gone by now... I wish that $$$ would have allowed Miles to show him the door at the end of last season, but it didn't work out. I am praying that it can happen this year...

Because with the defense he saw the problem, accepted there was a problem, dealt with it and got a good coach, and showed improvement.
However with the offense, he clearly hasnts seen the problem or hasnt accepted there is a problem. He hasnt dealt with it, he has kept the same coach here calling the shots(and even though he got knew ones he isnt letting there presence be felt), and the offense has shown no improvement and has actually regressed because of poorer execution of the same old song and dance. (And this is mainly directed towards the passing game even though the fumblese in the running game have sometimes been worry-some).
So Thats why!

This is so damned funny because all through the '08 season, the EXACT same stuff that people are saying about Miles in regard to the offense/playcalling/coordinator were being said about the defense/playcalling/coordinator(s)!!!
Every other post was about how Miles was too ignorant/stubborn/clueless to do the right thing about the dismal defensive situation...
Just because Les Miles hasn't paid for a billboard on I-10 telling everyone that Crowton has cardboard boxes next to his desk doesn't mean that he doesn't see the problem and know it has to be addressed!!

Really? His actions this off-season scream alot louder to the fans than any billboard could! I was going by the fact that the offense sucked last year and Crowton should have been fired then just like Mallevto was promptly shown the door after one bad season. However he was not and all Miles keep saying is the QB play has to improve. But he never does anything to lead us fans to believe he is doing any thing about it. It really not that hard to give such a passionate fan base alittle bit of hope that smoething could improve in the near future with our QBs or flat out tell us we got what we got.
If the QB race is really as close as he says, well prove it to us fans by giving Lee a shot. 3 straight games with under 100 yards passing without the backup getting a chance would not happen at many schools in country regardless of their record. And if the QB race is not as close as Les says, Les should not have told us it was in the first place. It probly wouldve saved him alot of heat from the fans.

We do NOT have a championship team, even with perfect QB play. We started out way too low in the polls, which would mean we would have to be perfect (which even the '03 and '07 teams couldn't pull off) just to get to the position Auburn was in in 2004.
Yet another reason we need a playoff. We DO have a team that could make a 16-team playoff and then have a shot at running the table. But there's no way we could get into the Top-2, considering what TCU, Boise, Oregon and Ohio State have left on their schedules.

there were A LOT of reports that Miles tried to ditch Crowton after last year, and $$$ was a big issue and he was blocked... I tend to believe that..

Well, it REALLY does, doesn't it. A lot of people are around here saying the he hasn't even acknowledged that there is even a problem, so you're ahead of the game with that...

He's said that he knows it's a problem, and has to be improved.. why do you think he's not doing anything?

so you really want him to come out at the pressor and say, "We really don't have any promise at the QB position. We are going to have to run the ball all the time, as neither of our QBs shows the ability to throw consistently.. hopefully a JUCO transfer in the next class is going to be our next hope here... thanks and enjoy the Ridley show the rest of this season.. have a semi-great day..."

quote:This is where I get crazy because I see all the absolute talent that is on our Offense being wasted, mishandled, coddled, or in some other way being poorly coached. Results are what they are - yes, LSU is currently 4-0, but unless something changes on the Offensive side of things, this is about as good as it will get.
So much potential yet so much underachieving.

quote:Not a championship team? May I ask what the polls have to do with being the SEC champion? At the present moment, that is within reach -- big IF -- IF LSU had a decent offense to go with the great defense and ST play we're putting out there every week. The Tigers could be contending for this coveted spot.
We do NOT have a championship team, even with perfect QB play. We started out way too low in the polls,
And then, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like the road to the National Championship has been paved through the SECCG for quite a few years now.
