Yeah between T. Reed, G. Robinson, and D. Benton, it makes you wonder if these "lost recruiting battles" were more like we just conceded them to Auburn (actually we chose Randle over Benton). Not much production out of any of them. But Robinson probably has a chance to be solid there.

Besides Auburn commits there's a lot of others out there too. Like Lache Seastrunk. He was high on LSU and everyone was drooling over his physical abilities but he's basically fallen off the face of the earth. When you throw in all the 2 and 3* recruits that have developed into studs at LSU, I don't question anything Les and the staff do when it comes to recruiting

Go back and watch the All America game. THe guy made one nice play. Watch his coverage. He certainly does not relish contact.

THe best safeties have two attributes: 1) coverage awareness, and 2) sure tackling. I just don't see either one of those in LC. He is a tremendous athlete, but I'm not sure what else.

With our stacked secondary, ahem, DBU has Thompson playing as a frosh.

Think LC wouldn't have played too?

He's so athletic he was playing at corner during fall ball for Bama.

i vaguely keep up with recruiting because i find it sily to harp on the whims of 17 and 18 year old kids. i follow em once they get on campus

all that being said, i am only vaguely familiar with landon collins

so reading this thread, your massive boner for him really stood out

congrats, biged, you win the internet today

You trollIin? He is second string anywhere is the back 5 for Bama. Impact freshmen of the caliber you speak of start from day 1.

I actually agree with BigEd on Collins. I talk to a few of the national recruiting analysts on the major sites and they agree as well. At least one very known and respected scout on a major site specifically said LC was the best S prospect, prospect being the key word in this, that he'd ever evaluated and he's been around for years. Prospects are not always ranked and evaluated based on what they are currently but what they can or will become. LC is a fantastically talented kid and no one can deny that. He is a special talent. That doesn't mean he will pan out but all the potential is there.

As long as Eric Reid is in the line up, no worries. Imo he is the best in the country.

Greg would be a back up this year so in reality he def played sooner at Aub. Only problem is Auburn is terrible.
