Gotta trust that Les and Co. know what they are doing. Not that they wouldn't have taken those two guys, but they certainly didn't sweat it. I predict much the same for LC and Devall
If you're talking about Landon Collins, he has the potential to be an all American at safety.
I guess you forgot that we offered all these players and we damn sure wanted Landon Collins. Unless you think LSU didnt want the #1 safety in the country and he is from LA.

I have no need to defend my opinion to some teenager.

no one recruit will make or break LSU (or Alabama for that matter). Fans should not get upset if we miss on a guy, cause LSU will just get some one else.

But why go out of the way to act as if we didn't want them?
We are too big of a program for sour grapes IMO.

that he'd ever evaluated and he's been around for years.

McKnight was supposed to be the best running back ever too and he fizzled out. Randle was supposed to be the best receiver to come out of La in years (which I agree, but nationally?). Russell Shepard, well you know the story, and I Blaim the staff somewhat for that.

It's never been my opinion that it would break our program. It's a pothole.

what question? About his credentials? Its irrelevant. Collins was ranked as a top 5 prospect last year by all major recruiting sites and was a top priority for the 2 teams in the BCS CG last year, so its fair to say he was an elite level prospect. Unfortunately most of you don't really seem to understand what that really means. Its certainly not a guarantee of anything, just an evaluation of where he was as a HS Sr and what his physical skills suggest he can do.
Its really comical to see some LSU fans running him down because he is not an instant starter 2 games into his college career. If he was here, he'd be in the rotation like Thompson, maybe Bama is deeper at S right now, I really don't know because I'm not an Alabama fan.
The hyperbole on the other side is also a bit much. Saying he's the best S prospect in years is ambiguous since years is not defined and S, like G and TE is not a position that is often ranked high. But he was #3 on rivals so its not wrong. And who ever said he's a once a decade talent, don't make us laugh. He is not even a once a decade talent at S (Berry, C Jones), let alone a much better prospect than guys like the other L Collins or 2014 guys like C Robinson, L Fournette etc.
He's a great talent, would have been great to get him at LSU, but LSU has plenty of other great talents so no big deal.

Landon Collins is certainly one of the most publically pussy whipped athletes in the last 20 years. Doug Christie has him beat though.

Just to be clear, I was butthurt pretty bad when LC went to bama. Bama was on a all out campaign to destroy lsu last year it seemed to me. To bad it won't work
Btw, I miss the reppin the boot shirt he used to where

So great he's the 6th Bama safety out of camp...Loston was great too in HS..remember
Point is; loads of blue chippers don't live up to status and IMO of you are not contributing significantly in year 1, you should not be a 5 star. Guys like Trent R, Julio, PP7, etc Dre the field immediately

So, they should have time machines or re do the rankings after everyone has signed when no one cares. Again, 5* does NOT guarantee success, its just a projection. Of course any 5* including Collins could flop, but a higher % of 5* pan out than 4 or 3's you just notice the 5* that don't and the 3's that do become stars more.

I was under the impression Les Miles offered all these guys. I know he offered Reed and Collins so I am failing to see your logic? How did Les play a part in those guys deciding not to come to LSU when they had an offer? I have seen LC play a ton of games so I have no idea what you are talking about in your evaluation. I know LC put on 15 lbs this summer and got faster as well. He was a better high school player and ahead of Eric Reid at this point. Bama has too much depth at safety. He would have been better served at LSU. I am not sold at all on Loston in pass coverage and and as much as I like Reid he better stop gambling or he will get shredded in SEC play.
