Make all the excuses for our players' actions that you want. (I am a 37 year old white male so I am obviously a racist for saying this) . But we are well on our way to being viewed as the next U of Miami.

I absolutely love the way our players play between the whistles. But the before the game and between plays antics are ridiculous (Harry Coleman Syndrome) . When you do something good, you should celebrate. But why does celebrating now involve making sure the other guy knows that he sucks and should never have been born.

If it is as some say "part of the game", it shouldn't be. It reflects poorly on the coaching staff, university, fanbase, and makes it difficult for parents who are trying to teach their kids good sportsmanship.

CLM needs to get a handle on it quickly.

This.

Football is a man's game. Man up or get the frick out. HB7 was all in their heads from warm ups to the final whistle. He knows exactly what he's doing, and he's doing it better than anyone else in the country. Just sit back and enjoy. I have no idea why any LSU fan would complain about this.
Just go watch his interview with Fowler after the game. Kid definitely has his head on straight. Soft spoken, humble and smart. But on the field he becomes a BEAST. Nothing wrong with that!

There's been trash talking in sports since the beginning of sports. It will never go away. I did it, the people before me do it, the people after me did it, and the people after TM7 will do it.

I have three brothers who all played football. I know its an emotional game. However, there is a difference between discreetly passing along a comment to an opposing player and openly mocking that player.

The first is part of the game. The second distracts from the game.

Need I go on... this is NOT a race issue man... not at all .... it's about respecting the uniform you are wearing and not embarrassing yourself or your school.

Every example you used was an offensive player. Defense is supposed to be intimidating. Bad example.

You're giving all offensive players as examples, that's not really where the trash talking usually comes from. Defensive players on all levels are known for doing the trash talking and it has always been this way. If that's what it takes for our defense to get in the offense's heads and pump themselves up, then so be it.

Does anyone bitching about trash talking actually watch any football on sunday?

When you have to use Barry Sanders as your reference point (1980 called) for an example of how to act, then you are out of touch. And I was wathcing Percy Harvin yapping all day yesterday...while LOSING!

It's part of the game. Your perceived image of how a football player should behave is as outdated as Barry Sanders himself. TM7 is acting no different than any CB I watched in the NFL all day yesterday, and that's good, b/c that's where he is headed.

Reggie White after he became the Reverend, and coincidentally, not much of a player anymore.

there's nothing wrong with muggin the camera after you make a big play. I do think TM needs to tone it down just a little. I was sure he was going to get hit with a flag at the end of the game when he was standing over the guy talking shite. I'm sure it will get addressed. nothing to worry about.

I agree with what you are saying but the WVA game was on both sides.

And with LSU being ranked #1 now EVERY team will be gunning and trash talking to knock off #1 so they need to keep focused and not let that emotion get to them. I like spirit and agression and hard playing, I don't like the posing and excessive celebration.

High five, fist bump whatever then move on quickly.

And for an example of "play like you've been there" look no farther than Dalton Hilliard who set the ball on the turf EVERYTIME he scored at LSU and with the Saints. Went to the sidelines.

That pissed opposing players off more than the actual score.

You have no idea the kind of talk that goes on - on the field. Emotions are high - it's part of the build up to the game and it is part of the game.

You also have no idea of what was said on either side of the ball. These kids knew they were on TV and were building their stock. Eyes of the NFL were upon them. Ain't nobody going to draft no pussy.

Get over it. Soccer Mommies are ruining football.
