I'll be staying about 1.5 miles from the stadium would a taxi be the easiest thing to do?

I would say walk or metro rail. But it depends in which direction the 1.5 miles are.

The Metro drop off is almost .5 miles from the stadium. And that's just crossing the parking lot. Best to just walk. If you're able.
