SWAC bands are terrible unless you like hearing the tuba and the trumpet all blow at once with no continuity whatsoever

does Ohio St play anything besides Hang on Snoopy?
Only played at the end of the third quarter. I was at the Sugar Bowl game against Arkansas and the Arkansas fans around me couldn't believe how bad their band was compared to ours. The band is a huge tradition at Ohio State and it's taken seriously.

I think Wisconsin is a glaring omission. I like their high step marching style, and the Fifth Quarter is pretty cool.
Agreed. Hate the frickers but their band is legit.

Their cheerleaders certainly are!
They aren't cheerleaders. They are Song Girls.

easily the most entertaining. And that's what a marching band is there for... they get too much hate from the dorks TGBFTL. A lot of LSU members wouldn't last one practice with a band like Southern

Of course they wouldnt last one practice....they would see that their instrument playing talents are above and beyond anyone on that practice field....look..i know Swac bands are known for their marching and dancing and all that stuff but u cant sit here for one second and tell me when they start playing that it doesnt sound like complet crap

Not "officially confirmed", but isn't Roy telling us that he's working it out with their travel agents proof enough?
he told us that? neat

I don't think that is a fair assessment....I think that maybe the on field halftime performance has gotten a bit rougher (definitely not "significantly downhill" though) in exchange for a more fun/up to date song selection over all....However, pregame is still rock solid like it always has been and always will be. No one wants to be the director that lets pregame slip.
Roy doesn't write or clean halftime drill as well as Linda did. One important thing though is TGBFTL's sound is better than ever IMO. That started around 2010 when the band got some great grad assistants.

I'm not trolling. I think they are really entertaining and I bet they have a ton of fun doing it. I don't think either band would be very successful trying to imitate the other.

When I first read this, I thought it said, "in PRISON", instead of "in person", which would make perfect sense.

Exactly. They're totally different styles. Not all of us "TGBFTL nerds" might be able to get down their fancy dance steps easily, but getting them to play at any volume lower than "BLAAAAAAT" with a tuner in their face wouldn't be easy for them either.

Top College Bands
It's Ohio State and USC and then everybody else...so it doesn't really matter.
Oh yeah right. I forgot, that Ohio State 'script Ohio and dotting the i' is soooooooooooooooo spine-tingling. I get a bigger thrill shaking the last drops of urine off my wanger. TGBFTL put them to shame on Jan. 7 2008.
And USC ?????????????????????????????
Are you fricking SERIOUS ??????????????????
