no one gets cut from baritones unless they f'ed up completely or are a freshman. nothing to worry about usually. although RMK did once say we had the absolute worst cut night audition in his entire LSU tenure. I think they cut one kid out of like 17

I was listening to the Jaguar Journal driving around tonight and there were some people calling in mad about Southern not being included since LSU was.
The only people that really think Southern is better are Southern fans.. and Elleshoe kind of. That should tell you something.

All of the black schools sound the same and march the same. ASU's band sounds like Southern's. Black colleges appear to rank first in marching, and not in sound. I'm white, and those bands sound like crap.

I think he's said we've had one of the best.
The woodwinds tend to be the best marchers (I guess since it's so easy to weed out the bad marchers when you can cut half the people who show up to band camp...).

Nope, it's still valid.
Meanwhile, I got snipped in The Woodwind Massacre of 2008 and I still get nervous before marching auditions.

If I had a dollar for every time I heard Linda tell a clarinet player that she didn't march good enough to play clarinet I'd have at least enough money for a decent NOLA weekend binge
I'd bet the top 15-20 musicians in TB played clarinet in just about any given year.......and at least from my years clarinets produced more band directors than trumpets, trombones, and baritones combined I think.

I don't think they are better. I think they are considered more entertaining. And so does just about everyone who isn't over 50 and white. They play more up to date music that gets the crowd more into it than "Green Onions" does.
I just happen to think some LSU members should show a little more respect to their cross town "rival"
