I think Wisconsin is a glaring omission. I like their high step marching style, and the Fifth Quarter is pretty cool.

You serious?? Why does everyone fall in love with that weird circle stuff that WVU's band does in EVERY show. It's progressive, and easy, and kinda cool looking, but it doesn't make them a good band.
ALSO: USC IZ TEH BEST 4 GOING PLACEZ!!! TGBFTL is heading to IRELAND for St. Patrick's day in the Spring. Sooo... yeah.

whoa whoa whoa now skippy, has this been confirmed? I don't want to be let down by Gausman and Ireland in the same year.

that's BS that yall get to go to Ireland.

TGBFTL has gone downhill significantly since Roy King took over.
I don't think that is a fair assessment....I think that maybe the on field halftime performance has gotten a bit rougher (definitely not "significantly downhill" though) in exchange for a more fun/up to date song selection over all....However, pregame is still rock solid like it always has been and always will be. No one wants to be the director that lets pregame slip.

Wow.....must have some money left over from the band hall fund raising I would assume.
Nice trip though.....I wish we could have done something like that while I was in TB....although my trips to Chicago, L.A., Salt Lake City, and Albeqerque (sp) were epic.

It's Ohio State and USC and then everybody else...so it doesn't really matter.
I've seen both of these in person and was less than impressed. LSU's band is better.

Like them or not, this is pretty bad arse...
Their precision marching skills are second to none, but they are VERY boring to watch.
All they do is play military-inspired music (no popular music) and march in a big square.

This is dead on. I would argue they are the best band in the nation. Hard to compare them however as they are a different animal. More of a dum and bugle corp. What I can say however is the UW marching band is to bands what LSU fans are to college football fans. I think the band has been suspended or been put on NCAA probation multiple times for craziness (Hazing). They have a strict no fatty policy which would mean half of the LSU band wouldn't even be eligible. They are pretty nuts. And the 5th quarter is a sight to behold.

And the way they march, High stepping the whole time. You'd have to be in good shape just to survive their marching style.

Now, that's not nice... We have one of the best looking marching bands. :isserious:

Not "officially confirmed", but isn't Roy telling us that he's working it out with their travel agents proof enough?

I was referring specifically to the halftime shows. Down the hill, pregame and in the stands is no different, and I would say we are as good as it gets in those regards. The halftime shows these days aren't as good as they once were IMHO.

Plus it's dirty as hell. Circle drill is the hardest to clean, and when I saw them it looked more like a potato.

True. I apologize for that comment. I love our marching band. That was over the line.
