People are forgetting Fournette has dealt with this hype since high school. This isn't new to him at all which is why he is able to handle it so well

There's a huge difference between being BMOC and talked about on recruiting websites and being gushed over by everybody in the national media.

I think the hype is justified, but I'd rather be under the radar IMO. I want teams to not know what hit them.

I think it's cool when they know what's about to hit them but they can't do anything about it.

you realize teams watch game film to prepare and not by what analysts say......right? Fournette wasn't sneaking up on anyone.

Saban: I was watching ESPN this morning and apparently LSU has this player named Leonard Fournette that seems to be pretty good. I think it may be a good idea to game plan against him or something.

It seems that every since LF did the Heisman pose, Coach Miles set his mind straight and he has grown into a solid man on a mission.

It's just right. The other day I had an LSU shirt on and a complete stranger walked up to me wanting to talk about him. This guy said he won't miss another LSU game this year after he saw what he did against Auburn.

Imagine what it would have been like if people compared him to Adrian Peterson coming out of high school!

The guy is used to dealing with this kind of hype, he will deal with it well.

Ding..ding...ding...we have a winner.

Think........RECRUITING! LF7 bowling over opponents and getting all the national hype will bring other recruits to LSU from all over the country. Even more so than now.

Had something similar happen to me in Santa Fe. He's had his statement game (as if the Notre Dame game wasn't enough), now it's time to show that he is truly the GOAT.

No way there is too much hype. If there is, it's for good reason. Even on the syracuse website for their scouting report, they have three of four paragraphs about Fournette and LSU's rushing.
quote:

Sophomore running back Leonard Fournette leads the nation in rushing entering Saturday's contest, averaging 193.5 yards per game. Fournette also ranks first nationally in scoring, averaging three touchdowns per contest.

Against Auburn, Fournette ran the ball 19 times for 228 yards on the ground. His 12.0 yards per carry is an LSU school record and 228 rushing yards ranks seventh in Tigers' single-game history.

Coming into Saturday's game at the Carrier Dome, LSU ranks among one of the top rushing offenses in the country. The Tigers are rushing for 338.5 yards per contest, which ranks fifth nationally.

I guess you are worried that he peaked too early in the season. If he puts up solid numbers without highlight real moments later in the year, then perhaps a hot player with a big moment later in the season could overtake him.

Let's face it, LSU's schedule the next few weeks is lackluster. However, I think that sets up nicely for him. He'll have some games that he can simply get his yards and sit. Regardless, he needs a few good runs to keep voters watching.

What actually sets up nicely is that he can pad his stats in October, and will be on the biggest stage come November vs the 3 biggest contenders in our division.

How could he not be hyped after that performance last week? He was a graceful animal with ball. Pure thing of beauty.

I was inclined to think that it was, but taking everything into consideration this would have been true last year, not this. I look for LF7 to run away with the trophy...

LF learns life lessons as well as he crushes d-backs. That 'pose' last year...was all he needed to put the whole mind game thing to rest. He's all business now! And no...the hype is warranted; barring injury, he'll rip the d-backs to shreds this year and be in the H running.
