Have not heard one even slightly negative comment from the local pundits today. They're all extremely positive, even excited. Fans overall are jacked through the roof. Of course there are a few idiot Cook fanboys who bitched about it some and some of the know-it-alls asking how he's going to run behind our line (as if Coughlin won't be addressing that next).

Personally, it feels almost surreal to me. I've been here in Jax since before the Jags so I consider myself a Jags fan. This has got to be the most excited I have ever been for an NFL player. I absolutely LOVED Leonard at LSU and now it seems crazy that he's coming here. Fantastic feeling. My son too. 16 years old and idolizes the man. Last night was extremely exciting for both of us and that feeling is still going strong. Can't wait to see him on the field for the Jags!!

GEAUX LEONARD!!! And I hope your career brings you everything you've ever dreamed of.

He will be a good one for years to come. Drafting Cam Robinson as a right tackle should be their move tonight.

Congrats. Happy for Lenny and the Jags.

I just wish as an LSU fan that his first game wasn't against my Texans defense in Houston.

Hopefully he'll score 3 TDs and barely lose

There is a school of thought here that it may be Lamp. Dude is enormous and supposed to be projected to be a real stud.

But yeah... It would be shocking if the Jags first pick of second round is not one of those two, assuming the Packers do take a corner with the 33rd pick. Also, the Seahawks may well snatch Robinson anyway.

I hear ya. Exactly what I would be saying if he were going to the Texans.

to the OP did you here the press conference on sports talk out here when they introduced LF? i laughed a little with LF having such a thick accent. So happy we got him hope we can get one of the top 2 available OL left then pickup pocic in the 3rd round. Would love to pickup beckwith or riley as well. We need more tigers

Yes I listened. And yeah, you're right, it was kinda funny. A little bit of a different sound.

Yeah I'm thinking it'll be Lamp in round 2. Will be very interesting if Pocic is still there in round 3. One of the radio guys asked him about bringing in Pocic and he said: Yes!! Absolutely!! or something to that effect. It wasn't a soundbite. They were just relaying the conversation. But if he's there and is high on their board at the time, it's possible.

Always!!!

BTW... Have I ever asked you if you go to Hurricanes to watch the games with us on Saturdays in the fall? I know I've asked a few people on this board but can't remember if you're one. We're at the one in San Marco now on Hendricks.

Can't wait to see Leonard rush for 2,000 yards for the London Bulldogs in a few years

Jax I will be there this year. I am glad we got LF. We definitely need to pick up a couple young Olineman. Great draft for the tigers this year.

I read lots of negative comments on their main message board. Mostly complaining about taking a RB so high especially with a crap OL. Also complaining about the so called "injury issues".

He had one injury, so hes injury prone?

Jags are going to have a lot of weapons on offense next year. Feels weird to say that.

Most of the fans and local sports radio out here are stoked about LF. I mean we had Chris Ivory who was injured over 70% of the time and TJ Yeldon is not a North South guy. I think LF gives us a legit run game now.

My neighbor is an original Jags season ticket holder. He's thrilled about it.

Yeah man. I haven't bought a jersey since I was a kid but I'm almost tempted. Son will definitely get one and I may just live vicariously through him with his.

The cool thing is that when I go to the games I wear my Jags polo and my LSU hat and now the hat will have that much more significance.

And yes, when I'm in town I plan to go as much as I can.
