He made the most plays when he wasn't in single coverage. Now that we are using him more traditionally, he isn't in position to make the plays like before. Early in the year Simon was used more which left Mathieu open to blitz or move around in space. The teams we faced early in the season required this but more recent teams do not. He could have done great against Auburn but he didn't play. Don't expect anything special this week as he will be used in coverage more.

I only said he was playing better than simon. I didn't say he was PP7 or Mo.

Not sure I agree with this. I believe we'll be playing more nickle and especially dime this week. In the dime, Simon would be corner, TM7 Nickle and Brooks Dime DB.

Like TM7 having sketchy coverage skills? That has always baffled me. He has been an elite cover guy since HS; nothing has changed. He was always the best player on the field at camps of elite athletes and in games in HS and thats still rarely different at the college level of play.

I blame it on punt returns.

When PP stared doing returns he seemed to drop off on big plays, not sure why.

No.

That is just your opinion

He just hasn't made plays.

Ppl put him too high up there to start IMO.

Still playing great, no big deal.

Huh? How many completions has he given up since the move to being almost exclusive outside. The plays that Ron Brooks have made are because he's playing TM7's role. Simon had some breakdowns against Bama and Mathieu has been moved outside. That's why his fumbles caused/sacks have dropped off.

maybe he is burned out to those that dont pay attention to the game. If you actually watch the game tm7 is playing just fine. He hasn't gotten a turnover in a while but he is shutting down plays in the flats, downing punts and still causing turnovers and sacks by being disruptive. My advice watch the game a little closer

TM7 is a very good player...not the GOD some of you made him out to be.

After a couple of lounges and misses at the SUPER plays and the suspension, he has been playing solid football, he is not just going for the HEADLINES
...may be by coaches design.

Our coaches seem to shun anyone playing outside the scheme given to them, whether they make great plays or not.

rb...you really seem to have issues with our coaches. Is this from personal experience from someone related to you not having a good experience with our coaches????

Looks like he is still making plenty of plays to me. Appears that they are using Brooks in the role he was in earlier in the year, but he is snuffing out screen passes and passes in the flats and all over on special teams.

Ron Brooks & Matthieu are interchangeable. A lot of plays you've seen Brooks make since the Auburn game are plays that either he or Mathieu could make. A lot of teams are also going to scheme away from him, as well.

If anything, the fact that we see him less when in coverage means he's doing his job.

Hell be covering the slot and roaming more in the nickel and dime against Arky. Wilson will throw it 40 or more times so look for TM7 to have a big game along with our safeties (hopefully Reid).

He's playing corner most of the time now, whereas he was playing nickel earlier in the year. Simon is mostly only in for dime now, which is when TM7 can move inside and blitz more. Brooks is taking Tyrann's role at nickel which is why he's making those plays now. How in the hell is this so hard to understand?
