My God that Oregon-Oral Roberts super was off the charts.

PK Park was designed by the same architects as Alex Box.

There have been a good amount of home runs this CWS, a couple Windy days doesn’t change that.

The wind was predominantly blowing out during the first two days, but that isn’t the norm for this time of year there. It typically blows in and the numbers collapsed as soon as the wind shifted. Crews’ just over the wall HR was the first in the last 4 games. That’s not normal for college baseball right now, especially these teams.

Well the contract for hosting the CWS at Charles Schwab Field runs until 2035, so it'll be a long time before any change in venue is considered.

Everyone knows how CSF plays. It’s no secret. Similar to Wrigley Field. When the wind is blowing in, don’t swing for the fences. It’s that simple.

Y’all gonna love it when the wind blows in tomorrow night and Money goes seven innings with zero home runs given up

You can make the argument other schools stadiums play the complete opposite and that’s what makes college baseball fun 9-8 score ball games with each team hitting 4 home runs

Of course if the wind is blowing in at 25mph you're not going to hit it out...it'd be the same at the box if the wind was blowing at at 25mph

That is not how weather works. We live in the Northern Hemisphere where summer time winds are predominantly out of the north. This is even more so the case in the plains states. For them to orient a baseball stadium in the direction they did was just plain stupid.

Im just spitballing here but maybe this gives Lsu an edge. Our bats are just as good if not a bit better than anyone left in the tourney. And having other teams hit deep fly balls instead of bombs helps what little pitchers we have left stay in the game longer.

Exactly my thought going into tonight. The last thing you want when you're pitching guys that aren't even mid-week starters is a hitter's ballpark or conditions.

The ball carries better late in the evening. It’s not a surprise how it plays. Teams need to adjust

You make that sound like it's as simple as changing uniforms, it isn't.

Winds predominant out of the north would be blowing out in that stadium.

Why is it a surprise that Omaha is great?

Rosenblatt was the epitome of college baseball. The tourney will never be the same in my eyes.

It also has an awful sun field for half the 6pm starts. The park is fine, they just oriented it in the wrong direction. I wouldn't be upset if they got punished by losing the CWS for such a colossal frick up.

They built the new park because the NCAA demanded it. Omaha was fine with keeping the old Rosenblatt. In order to keep the series there, they built the new stadium, and the location, the specs, everything, was with the NCAA's blessing.

Play it in a dome on turf.

Think you guys missed the irony here. OP is just saying anything would be better than what we have now. And that the new Omaha park affects the game the same way a dome would. (no wind, ever; balls lost in the ceiling, etc.) And no one plays all season in a dome.
After several trips to Rosenblatt, I was very disappointed in TD Ameritrade. Rosenblatt had an old-time baseball feel to it, in a neighborhood like the ones where the game used to thrive. Downtown felt stale and corporate and expensive and forced. The difference between the two is the same as the difference between sandlot and travel ball. It’s still the same sport but it’s not the same game.
