something different than having a fricking black drain pipe running next to my corporate suite, directly next to my seats. no i don't own the suite but i sure as shite wouldn't want that there if i did.
i'm in the design field. there are always solutions to problems like this. this is a half assed cheap resolution to a problem
Maybe, they're going for like a Pompidou Center sort of look.

I know everyone is bitching about the bathrooms so I won't pile on. I am just curious why is was designed this way? There has to be a good reason.

Anybody still think this is the same color as the NEZ??

i don't think its bathrooms. i think its catching rain run off from the front row of the upper and typing into the main drains. I don't think code would allow a black water sewage line to run like that.

As usual with the tennis facility.
That dirt

Really? It looks like a completely different tone. Is the sunlight just fricking up the picture?

Yes. One is in full direct sun and the other is shaded.

I am not talking about the pipe. was just saying I am not gonna bitch about the bathrooms but am curious as to why they would be designed like that. Rather than individual structures why not utilize all of the space?

Because there isn't enough room up there. The space between the buildings is where people will line up for concessions.

also tying in existing plumbing is the biggest thing i guess. however this isn't a bathroom thing

The north end was not stucco. It certainly looks to match the stucco of Alex box, energy coast bldg and several other bldgs on campus. The picture says it all, completely different color and finish

So they got until September 6th.
That's 12 more of these Construction updates. Given the progress each update brings, I'm thinking they'll be ok. Should finish up ALL the exterior items in the next 3-4 weeks. That gives 8-9 weeks to work solely on the interior.
We good.

I still don't like he look of the concession blocks just sitting there. There wasn't any room in the interior to house those?

Nope, Suites and Club below. Plus, they want SRO space up top, also. It's not too bad of a design when put in that perspective.

No. The built the thing almost straight up instead of out. They had to. Under that deck is the stadium club.

I'm pretty pumped about the updated locker room. It needed to be done to keep up with the Jones'.

Instead of building blocks made out of cinder they could have added one extra level above the stadium club to alleviate the eye sore.

I'm not losing sleep on it one way or the other (I think it looks a tad crappy at best, though), but I find the 'well, that's just how it had to be' point utterly hysterical.
There's got to be innumerable ways to design a stadium expansion without blocks of bathrooms sticking up on top, as evidenced by the fact that basically EVERY OTHER STADIUM I'VE EVER SEEN doesn't have such a feature.
