There’s a reason Corbin let him walk

If he's holding Holman just to give him a normal weeks rest then I'm ok with that. If he's doing it cause he doesn't want to match him against Smith then that's just stupid and pussified.

This is LSU. Defending national cbampion LSU. There's no reason in the world we should be "conceding" a game against anyone. Arkansas isn't a good hitting team and if you throw Holman we could easily win a low scoring 2-1 type game. If you throw anyone else and they go give up 4 or 5 runs we probably don't win.

Jay said he wanted him and jump at full rest since they both threw over 100 pitches last week.

I know he's typically been a late relief/closer guy. My thoughts: there's a good chance we take a whole staff approach and use 4-6 pitchers, why not start with bucknam who has looked promising in a few appearances?

Because he hasn't bounced back well on short rest. And he threw Tuesday.

I think we should see him this weekend, just not tonight.

Herring or Kade Anderson

Id put money on it being Kade Anderson.

Id like to see Herring get his shot.

doesnt matter though, Hagen Smith is going to shove it up our arse... he is Skenes from the left side...

I've heard worse ideas. But I don't think any of the guys who pitched Tuesday will be in consideration of starting tonight except Primeaux (and I'd be utterly baffled if he starts since Jay only lets him throw to one batter per week).

I would start Coleman or Anderson and then go to Herring if needed, but with Anderson throwing 30+ pitches Tues it won't be him

Anderson also threw like 2 innings on Sunday as well, I doubt we see him until Fri or Sat in relief

Jay isnt going to pitch him 3 times in 5 days

Id take that bet. Dont see CJJ running a true freshman out for his 1st SEC start @ Baum

Herring last threw Friday.. he's ready to go

How much money do you want to put? I'll take that bet.

Helmers is a lot better than what you are giving him credit for. Dude has some nasty stuff the couple time I’ve seen him pitch this year. He has improved substantially over the years.

An even more extreme example of rant narratives.

Hellmers (and Dutton) are not good. Sorry they just aren't. Neither ever really was. But the rant sees them have a good inning here or there, and have massive dreams about how great they are.

Coleman is at least half arse decent. But not as good as the rant believes.

who do we want to see JJ trot out there tonight?

I'd like to see Bucknam but Jay will probably pick Hellmers or Little

Herring but if not, Coleman.

Coleman just doesn’t have any command of his off speed. After an inning or two, teams will sit fastball. If he starts, hopefully it’s only for 1-2 times through the lineup and move on to a different look out of the pen. I could see this being more of this type of look:
-Coleman 2 innings
-little 1-2 innings
-Herring 2-3 innings
-Guidry 1-2
-Ack 1

He's good, but we got to him last year. He's not invincible. He's a very good college pitcher.
