I know this has been discussed ad nauseum, but this gave me a big time reality check.

Looking at the ESPN Power Rankings, I noticed that they have four SEC teams ranked ahead of us. Of those four, we have to play three of them on the ROAD (UF, Aub, Arky). The other one just happens to be the #1 team in the country.

Brutal.

At this point I'm thinking 9-3 would be a good season, and 10-2 would be fantastic, given this schedule and our marginal offense.

I think we are looking at a 10-2 type year. I don't see Auburn beating us. And I think we beat one or two of the other 3 big teams (Bama, UF, Arky).

Florida is not that good this year. If we lose, it's on us. We SHOULD be in a better position to win. That being said, if Jefferson plays don't count on it. Can't throw 5 yard passes against UF and move the ball.

Auburn is a winnable game if we are focused.

Arkansas is a game we will have trouble with. They'll eventually score and we can't.

We can beat Florida and Auburn. But, we will have to play very well.

Alabama. No chance in my book.

Arkansas. Don't know about this one. I want to think we can win, but we will have to score and score a lot. I know our defense if good, but their offense is good too.

Auburn is very winnable. Their defense isn't all that

Florida is winnable. Jefferson will have to show up for this game, Florida still has a good defense

We have a better defense then Arkansas, but they have a better offense. Not sure about this one.

I think we match up pretty well against Bama. But the only way we come away with a W is if the defense plays lights out and forces turnovers because the offense is not good enough to win this game.

Miles made a huge mistake not firing Crowton last year imo, if he had hired even a somewhat competent coordinator to replace him, LSU would easily be top 5.

Your an idiot, they had a chance last year and they weren't as good as they are the year...

There Offense is extremely 1 dimensional, shut down mallet passing game and make them run the ball which they can't

I don't understand why anyone thinks Auburn is a good team . They weren't very good last year, lost several key starters, don't have especially good coaching, their passing game is only marginally better than ours, their ground game (outside their QB) is worse, their defense is much worse, and they've struggled mightily against the 2 mediocre-at-best teams they've played so far. I think Auburn is closer to the Vandy/State level than the UF/Bama level.

Bull. We'll play Bama tougher than anyone on their schedule.

Realistic 8-4 or 9-3 with some breaks. We gave some big gains on the ground to MSU that concerns me. UNC 400 yards through the air and even MSU found some open holes in the Secondary. And the offense I won't even get into it. If the O doesn't get better in a hurry we will struggle with every team besides Mcneese St. and ULM. WVU will sell out aginst the run as will everyone else and dare us to throw.

Looking at the Schedule, the possiblitly of an 11 win season is more feasible after watchinga couple weeks of the rest of the SEC the only question is Bamai won't to see how well they do this weekend and if the get beat by Arky, then who do you worry more about...

Love to see well-read and well-informed Tiger fans on this forum. Especially those who have actually read Marx and actually know what Marxism means.

I agree with this assessment.

However, it sounds like you are saying that ALL of those games are relative toss-ups. Which means that going 2-2 in those games would be acceptable. This would give us a 10-2 record, provided we take care of business in our other games.

IMHO I think we go 10-2. We should beat Aub and UF but I think we once again play Bama close but they pull away in the 4th with their running game. I also think Mallet will pick us apart and we will not produce enough points to keep up.We may get by with a lack of QB play against the lesser opponents but not against better competition.

Nothing is impossible if our defense continues to play as well as we have seen. If we take one game at a time and focus we could see some remarkable things. Florida is not the same in the "PostTeblow" era. They are very beatable and I beleive we beat them. Alabama hinges mainly on our defense but we will have to play within our game and score on opportunities. You will not beat Tricky Nicky kicking field goals on your red zone trips. Beleive it or not, Arkansas scares the daylights out of me...Not because they are so good, but because for some reason they are tiger cryptonite...Their QB is dangerous and can score quickly...All that said, we better get our head wrapped around West Virginia and make sure we wrap up tackles because I suspect we see a lot of screens and short horizontal passing that could end up biting us. One game at a time. IF we go 5-0....It could get interesting...We could get our confidence and swagger on offense...Just drink beer and enjoy...Let it all play out on Saturdays...

hello bama fan ...how are you...obviously you are a bama fan.

In 2008 LSU was horrible, and takes bama to OT. In 2009, at alabama, lsu leads into the 4th quarter and probably wins without injuries to Jefferson (who was having a very good game) and charles scott (who was also having a very good game).

So we fastforward to 2010, when alabama is not as good as 2009 or 2008...and when lsu is significantly better than 2008 and 2009......and lsu has bama at home.......and yet we have no chance....lmao.

hello gump.
