re: Official Game Thread: Iowa 14 vs. LSU 21, Final - ellis1975 on 1/1/14 at 1:33 pm
I know AJ is young and has had many practice reps, let alone game time reps but.....his ability to scramble and avoid pressure is kinda questionable. I see his athleticism but he has no idea where the pressure is coming from and once it comes, he doesn't know how to escape it. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Bama RBs in the NFL - ellis1975 on 11/13/13 at 11:03 am
As the old saying goes, "the pros are about X's and O's and college is about Jimmies and Joes"....that said, Bama has great offensive lineman and very talented running backs. Most collegiate teams just don't have the DL to stand the punishment for entire games. Once in the pro's, Bama's RB's struggl...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Official Game Thread: Florida 6 vs. LSU 17, Final - ellis1975 on 10/12/13 at 5:04 pm
UF has a pretty good D but LSU gave up making this into a statement game by refusing to let the Offense throw on UF. LSU will hold on to win a close game but they lost an opportunity to make a HUGE statement about how good the offense really is. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (7)
re: Two years.. Matthieu's loss and Low Pre-season ranking this year - ellis1975 on 8/3/13 at 7:54 am
PERCEPTION!!! No matter how much some of our fans defend Les Miles, the fact is, he just isn't seen in the same light as Nick Saban. The media feels that Bama recruits as well as anybody and that they have arguably the best HC in CFB. With that comes the perception that whatever holes or voids a...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)

re: Did you roll your eyes at Verne and Gary giving time to McCarron's whine - ellis1975 on 11/13/12 at 4:24 pm
LSU fans are happy if the play Bama close and as long as Bama doesn't win the title.
Let's not get carried away. Bama was happy with MUCH LESS than that before Saban went there. A teams fulfillment of success will always be relevant to the talent they feel they display. LSU fans...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: You can NOT have it both ways - ellis1975 on 11/5/12 at 5:01 pm
There were A LOT of positives from the Bama/LSU game. But there were some negatives as well. Just as we can't have it both ways, moral victories don't count towards our win/loss record. The coaching staff put us in a great position to win the game AND also employed a defensive scheme that loss u...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Outside Opinion On The Game - ellis1975 on 11/5/12 at 4:49 pm
The FG attempt was not a bad play. Whether LSU makes it or not, the problem was what happened AFTER the miss. The decision to play PREVENT DEFENSE when their defensive scheme was already shutting Bama down was the worst decision of the game. Every other call could have been nullified if LSU had just...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)

re: Does throwing long loosen up things for the run even without a high completion % - ellis1975 on 10/24/12 at 5:34 pm
If you put 3 or 4 WR's out wide, defenses have no choise but to match up. The key is to spread them out wide. This takes defenders away from the "box". Completing deep passes determines if the D will keep safeties back, which keeps 1 possibly 2 more defenders away from the line of scrimmage. If ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Realistically, IF LSU beats Bama, how big of a jump will they make in the BCS... - ellis1975 on 10/24/12 at 12:44 pm
To all those projecting Bama at #2, make no mistake that they will drop BEHIND LSU if we beat them. Most in the media admit Bama have played an extremely weak schedule but keep them at 1 cuz they feel that Bama should stay #1 until sumbody beats them. ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Here is something to think about concerning the qb and simple offense. - ellis1975 on 10/24/12 at 12:32 pm
We need to send more WR's out to force the defense to cover more guys. Thus allowing us to run against fewer defenders in the box. No defense will simply not cover a WR so it kinda doesn't matter if the QB completes more passes or not. Another problem is the WR know they are not getting thrown t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: I'd rather be creative on offense and lose by 50... - ellis1975 on 10/24/12 at 12:17 pm
I think the OP may have poorly chosen his words. I think what he means is something along the line of he would like to see th coaching try any and everything to win this next game. It will be extremely hard to line up against Bama and run against 9 in the box. That said, LSU is the highest ranked...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: I found this to be interesting. - ellis1975 on 10/22/12 at 4:03 pm
Thats no reason for throwing for only 97 yds. Manziel was throwing in the same conditions against a much better defense and threw for over 200 yds. Yes he threw about twice as much but still, our passing game has many many flaws. From playcalling to execution. I'm not sure why we look so bad in t...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: 100% POSITIVE the Tigers roll the tide - ellis1975 on 10/22/12 at 3:54 pm
IMHO I think that it will tough sledding against Bama. For one, Saban will send quite a few disguised blitzs at Mett. Mett will be hard-pressed to recognize exactly what is taking place. Also, although I honestly think our running game is second to none, its extremely hard to run against a stacke...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
re: We should be stacked at Offense next year - ellis1975 on 10/9/12 at 2:42 pm
Everyone keeps saying its a lack of execution. Yes WR's have dropped passes. Have any of you seen a box score of anyone other than LSU? NEWS FLASH!!!! ALL TEAMS DROP PASSES! This team has no confidence on offense. The plays are simple with little to no creativity. Our opponents stack the box ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Just a simple question: Do you know more about football than Les Miles? - ellis1975 on 10/9/12 at 2:31 pm
I HIGHLY doubt I know more about football than Les Miles. That said, the question is how knowledgeable is HE compared to HIS peers. And having knowledge for the sake of knowledge means little if you don't apply it. MANY of the same posters on here that feel that Miles is above receiving criti...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
