I am sure it has been discussed before, but wonder if LSU should strongly consider it. Since LSU practices quite a bit on turf it may help. I know the field is in great condition and drains well, but seems to me LSU looks faster than just about every team we play on turf. I know Oregon is fast, but we were very fast in Cowboy Stadium. I would like to know our record in recent years on turf versus natural grass.I know it breaks tradition, but lots of schools are changing over to artificial.

no, that crap gets too hot in the summer and early season games... they took the temp of the turf at La Tech this summer and it was 178 in the turf and near 150 at 20 feet above the turf

The turf didn't help us in Little Rock in 08 or 10.

The Bermuda grass they installed last year has the field looking awesome. I say keep it the way it is.

I argued for it heavily the last few years when our grass looked like shite.

I still think it would help us. We play awesome on turf and our record backs it up.

Several of the in state powerhouse programs have switched over to artificial. I think the day will come and the field will be turfed. More and more of the better high schools athletes are playing on it in high school and get used to it.

The hell it was. You are trying to tell me that the temperature, 20 feet above the turf, was 150? That's about how hot the inside of your car gets. Players would die within minutes.

Furthermore, how many of our games are played in the afternoon in the middle of summer?

I would love to see a consistent, fast surface in Tiger Stadium.

Tha frick is wrong with some of you people?

Earlier today, someone asked why we don't change our mascot from "Fighting Tigers" to just "Tigers".

Now this shite.

That shite don't play here.

like they said above, the new turfs are just way to hot even with the underground cooling systems they have developed for them

As far as Les (The most Interesting Coach in The World) is concerned, you can keep your turf to yourself!

I saw one of the TV broadcasts the first weekend showed the sideline reporter registering 137 deg on the turf, and that was up north.

Yet we seem to win a shitload of games in Tiger Stadium on the grass at night. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

And, if they put in turf...I want purple.
