I said "premier matchup OF SOME SORT" in my post. My perception is that the OP wanted to see teams from all over or at least not Rice-SoMiss. The bottom line was that the OP was not satisfied with merely seeing LSU play baseball in the NCAA.

This regional is probably easier than 2008 when it was Southern Miss, UNO's team full of slow pitch softball players, and Texas Southern.

I understand what you are saying. Even when Rice is having a great year, the matchup isn't that exciting. Of course the postseason stakes are the most important thing, and I'm pumped for the regional.
We're talking about the little extras as a fan that can come with LSU hosting a regional. It's a chance to have a rare matchup in the Box, and the draw was all very familiar teams.

At least we have the worst 4-seed ever. Regional starts Saturday for us.

Late innings for that game, and we were moving up the bleachers down the first base side; and someone ripped a hooking liner foul our way. My buddy and I were successfully able to track and evade that ball;.. my gal just stopped and turned away to not get hit in the face. The ball hit her smack in the right butt cheek
(god help me if she ever reads that). The bruise was the only souvenir we got, the dozen 10 yr olds playing under the bleachers scrambled and got that ball before I could

If the miss cared so much for travel possibly Clemson will travel to Oregon State that doesn't sound like a caring about a travel budget
