In my opinion the outcome of this game will tell us how the rest of the season will go. Hopefully we have fixed some of the problems we have had keeping us from beomg able to put together a full game offensively (changing QBS, LF7 back healthy, opening up the offense, line play improving).

We win convicingly I think we will have a chance to win the west. If we win a nail bitter I think it will be more of the same, losses to ole miss Bama and Arkansas. If we lose it will be a ugly season.

Thoughts?

AU is terrible. So, anything besides a decisive victory is not good. A&M went in there and kicked their arse. If we dont do the same I am officially worried about our late Oct through Nov run

Thoughts?

It's 1/7 remaining games I think we could easily lose.

In the CLM world "fixed" is not always fixed - but fluid. Hopefully, though, you are right.

We need to win and play better than the last game. Pretty simple really. If we lose then the season is probably going to be a disappointment.

I disagree, they played Clemson close and had a chance to win on the last play. ATM beat them by 13, I wouldn't consider that an arse whooping. Also AU had more time of possession and first downs. They were also close in yards, I didn't see the game but the stat sheet certainly shows a closer game

ETA: AU is a tough atmosphere for us with a QB making his first SEC road start. AU is likely playing for Malzahns job. I'd consider this a very big and defining game.

I honestly think we'll see the best Auburn team so far this season (obv they can't get much worse). They'll be fired up to play LSU.

Almost beat Clemson. So good enough to make it hard for us, if not beat us.

Not sure why you got downvotes for this one. You're spot on. If we go into Jordan Hare and shite the bed, I'd be worried about October and November as well. If we can't look strong against a pretty bad Auburn team there's no way we go into the swamp and pull out a win. We also probably get beat by either Ole Miss or Bama at home and struggle with Arkansas.

This is game isn't just a must win. It's a must look damn good winning game.

If you consider this game season defining, it just tells you how far we've dropped from being considered a powerhouse program.

Yep. We are running out of time to become a complete team and play a complete game. We have yet to do so, and if we dont figure it out soon, we are staring a 4-5 loss season in the face

Auburn is better then people think. They have a defense that is able to keep them in games. They just need a QB (hmm seems familiar). Add to the fact that we don't play well at auburn it's going to be tough.

The fact that this game is even in jeopardy and we don't feel real confident about it shows the state of the program.

Our QB hasn't thrown a TD @Auburn since the 2008 game winning pass to LaFell.

Last time we played there we were 0/13 in 3rd down conversions.

We've only scored more than 20pts one time @Auburn since the 90s. No matter how talented our offensive skill positions, it has been very difficult for us to score there.

No team has won the SEC West Division and made it to Atlanta with more than 1 conference loss since LSU in 2007. This is a division road game which will likely decide whether LSU is a contender in the West or not.

Yes, this is very much a season defining game

I think it's only season defining with a loss. Both coaches desperately need this game so it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out.

this LSU team is discovering itself and growing. we need to win the game, away at a tough venue. Auburn is not a terrible team. they move the football pretty well but they can't score.

We need to see continued improvement and win. if we do, we move on to the next game. I refuse to accept that a close win means the season is over.

a loss, however....
