The talent will only shine as much as the O line and QB play will allow.

If only we had a QB. Have to pass with this kind of SEC. defenses.

You are not supposed to bring that kind of logic to "THE RANT".

If I am ANY defense on LSU'S schedule I play 8-9 man fronts until they prove they can beat me with the pass......

Granted, that is a lot of talent...but most folks forget, they are only as talented as the big guys blocking for them...no blocking, very small ypc...

This could be the most athletic line LSU has ever had plus we have three experienced players on the line with 2 being the bookends. We don't have to worry about new blocking this year either.

With Harris as the read option QB and guys like Fournette and Guice who can do everything and have the speed to boot, we are going to kill it!

I say we break 1977s record of 3352 yards.

But the QB is also part of the backfield... Subpar QB play will be the demise of this team as far as getting atop the West..........

If we can get Nick Marshall play from Harris (2600 pass yards 60% 20 TDs 500 rush yards 8 TDs), we will kill it as a powerful run team similar to what UGA did last year. We have the talent at WR, we have the talent at RB, we have 3 experienced OL, plus some very strong and very athletic newcomers.

Well of course.

But, if your backfield had two future NFL HOFers and a Heisman winner, then it would be fair to say that you could compare THOSE attributes.

IE, a backfield today would be considered on par if it included two guys who were potential NFL HOFers.

Cause "best" in my view would be relative to how that backfield stacks up against its peers. Otherwise, we probably had backfields during the Hallman era you could call better than the 1957 backfield which just seems silly at that point.

Live in a cave if you think we should be rated one. Yes, one proven talent. Williams had 300 yards last year?

Lots of teams have one proven talent and several studs that were highly rated behind them. I'd say a majority of the top 30 teams have this.

I was about to post the same thing, then I read your post.

No way Gayle Sayers and Jimmy brown could have the same career in todays game. Too many athletes bigger, stronger, faster.

This WILL be the best backfield at LSU ever this year...
FIFY

Of this list:Leonard Fournette
Darrel Williams
Darius Guice
Nick Brossette
David Ducre
Tony Upchurch
Lanard Fournette
How many do you think will eventually Transfer? I say at least 2, possibly Guice and Ducre imho.

Taylor, Cannon, Robinson was the best and Faulk, Collins, Mealey was next best.

Once you pass the top three, you are reaching the point of diminishing returns.

That's asking a lot from a vry inexperienced Soph QB... Plus Miles will run way more than pass. 20 td's passing and 2600 yds will be hard to come by.... Those are Mett type #'s.... And I have not seen anything from Harris that would lead me to believe he can het these type #'s...DUDE you are really overating this LSU team this coming year... I WANT 11-1 and a shot at an NC... That will not happen this year with Miles being as conservative as he is... Open your eyes man........

Fournette & Williams will get most of the carries. As they should.

Darius Guice intrigues me. He could be a difference maker down the road.

The two keys to this offense season being successful this year will be the health of the OLine & whether or not we can stop people from loading the box on us.

What makes you think any would transfer, and what makes you the two most talented behind Fournette would?
