That's asking a lot from a vry inexperienced Soph QB... Plus Miles will run way more than pass. 20 td's passing and 2600 yds will be hard to come by.... Those are Mett type #'s.... And I have not seen anything from Harris that would lead me to believe he can het these type #'s...DUDE you are really overating this LSU team this coming year... I WANT 11-1 and a shot at an NC... That will not happen this year with Miles being as conservative as he is... Open your eyes man........

Those aren't Mett type numbers, those are average numbers. It's time to get with the program and realize LSU won't be a QB wasteland anymore.

2600 pass yards at 8 ypa is only 325 attempts. Considering we got 2100 yards and 17 TDs in 275 attempts last year with a true freshman and true sophomore getting their first starts, 7 receptions from WRs entering the season, and dealing with a new blocking scheme, I see this as low balling it.

-No new blocking scheme
-Every WR comes back
-Harris is a year older and has gotten his feet wet

Am I really setting my expectations high for 500 more yards on 50 more attempts and 3 more TDs on said 50 attempts? Seems like you are setting your expectations way below the bar because you don't want to get upset.

What I'm not asking for is to move a mountain. That is gradual progression that anyone should expect at a minimum.

I don't get upset... I just don't think Harris will hit this #. Plus when AJ is available he WILL play.... No matter how good Harris is playing............. That's just how Miles works.....

Based on what?

Jefferson was suspended and even after being reinstated, took marginal snaps until Lee shat the bed at Bama.

Jennings struggled all season before a complete meltdown against NMST. Then Harris became the first true freshman in 30 years to start for us at QB.

Harris was abysmal against Auburn and the reigns were handed back to the guy who could at least execute the running game.

There's a long history of Miles pulling guys who aren't cutting it and going with the next best option.

Mettenberger, Flynn, and Russell are the only QBs he's had whose heads were never on the chopping block.

it has tons of potential but so many on that list are unproven in ncaa/sec you can make that kind of claim yet. fournette and williams are excellent though.

as a side note: if LSU can't figure out how to pass the damn ball, it wouldn't matter if our backfield was barry sanders, bo jackson, walter payton, and eric dickerson.

Didn't JJ start as a Tr. Fr?

It's amusing some push this "Jennings will start no matter what" after Jennings got benched by the 2nd SEC game last yr.

If you want to get technical about it... Jefferson started because the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd string QBs were out of commission. Not because he was "named" the starter.

But from a black and white standpoint you'd be correct.

It's already the most touted backfield in lsu history.
2 five stars
3 four stars

bullshite.
At A&M chavis won't have the luxury of his defense never being on the field. Even our worst offense(2014) had a huge TOP. Under Chavis lsu's yards per play rankings were middle of the pack in the sec.

You mean the guy that went 1-3 against lsu and gave up over 150 yards rushing 3 of those 4 games and 200 yards rushing in 2 of those 4 games?

Arkansas as well

They won in Baton Rouge twice in over 100 years.

You suck at this.

What? He led the SEC in all purpose yards as a true freshman.

We have studs but some of them are freshman so it will take some time for them to adjust to college football

I could get a bunch of Downie chimps in a room slapping away on a keyboard and they wouldn't come up with a post as stupid as this.

The dude led the conference in all purpose yards and broke the freshman rushing record at LSU. Every respectable national media outlet has him on their Heisman watch list. He's considered a top 5 back across the board.

If that's not "breakout star" material, what is?

I thought another funny comment was the guy who said LF7 is the only "Proven" RB on this team... So Williams was just a ghost, and was just a figment of imagination last year.

All Purpose Yards is truly one of the most misleading stats in football. If a guy is even a bad kick returner and gets 5 per game, he'll get well over 100 "all purpose yards". Do that every game and you've got well over 1200 yards. Big number for mediocre performance.

If you want to be more legitimate, use "yards from scrimmage" which is a more accurate impact of a player via rushing and receiving.

The fact that he broke a school record and led the league in all purpose yards is a pretty solid indicator of success and impact on the team, homey

Brandon Harris will light the sky in the air chiseling into the carries for RB's. Don't forget the talent we have at receivers, too.
