What team was the last one that played both motion offense with a tenacious defense? What a dichotomy from last few seasons of hero ball with virtually no consistent defense. Maybe this isn't the most talented roster tPear has had but I think early returns suggest it may be the most "team" oriented squad he's had.I have thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 games and the teams(minus ULM) were actually legit. The defensive end of the court will provide the difference for this team and will lead us to far outperform the preseason evaluations from the talking heads. In tPear we roll!

The defense is much better, we have long athletic guys and very good defensive guards with a 6-11 backstop behind them. Pretty much have every matchup covered when it comes to defense. Offensively we’re running things we’ve always run it’s just that the focus is on forwards like Days, Eason and the center Reid. We’re running sets that we used to run for Watford for them now we just aren’t running the catch and shoot sets we saw for Thomas or the guard heavy pick and rolls we ran for Waters, Mays and Smart.

I wish we had Miller or at least another shooter to complement Days and our long athletes

Hopefully Murray can come along as a shooter like Smart eventually did

Wade's 2nd season with Naz Reid, Waters, Mays, etc when he got suspended for the end of the season was a really fun team to watch. Emmitt Williams, etc.

Agreed. That was a fast, high flying team.

Yes it was a nice treat after enduring Johnny Jones.

Probably could have given mich st a closer game in sweet sixteen with Wade coaching, but our expectations were so low at that point.

Waters made so many acrobatic plays.

Fun to watch...yes
Team concept...No

Naz/Waters=Hero ball but I think Wade has given too much of a green light to guys like those two guys and Cam.I don't think we'll see that this year unless we need Days to take over occasionally.

This team has already shown that several guys can pull the offensive load for stretches at a time. They ALL play hard defense.

The most fun team I can remember from start to finish was Brady's Sweet 16 team. They went 9 deep and had a bit of everything Stromile and Jabari down low, Beshara who played good defense and rebounded from the 3 and had a not-terrible shot, and Roland who was gritty as hell at the 2 with Torris Bright at the point.

Decent depth with Collis, Dupree, Jermaine Williams and Brad Bridgewater.

They ran into a bad match-up with a team full of gorillas from Wisconsin in Albuquerque, but that team was great to watch.

Waters distributed the ball plenty. I would agree that Reid was going to shoot when he got the ball, but Trentont is too 10 all time assist guy. He would be no. 1 if he played 4 years. I wouldn’t say he played hero ball at all.

Yeah maybe a bit harsh and didn't really convey my point accurately. I equate a lot of 1-on-1 dribble offense to "hero" ball. Tremont, much like Cam, was instructed to keep the balls in his hands for stretches of the game...particularly down the stretch when the game was in doubt. Naz was just a chucker who could occasionally get hot. He was a black hole on both ends of the court way more than a guy of his talent should've been. Full grown man that played like he wanted to be a 2.

Waters was a guy you wanted with the ball in his hands down the stretch, but I digress.
I agree this team will be fun to root for utilizing fill court pressure for much of the game. What I’m wondering is where is Justice Williams, the Philadelphia player that was a big time get. Appreciate the help.

Last years team was one of the most talented and painful teams I've watched in many years. If you enjoyed watching them more than this team so far...more power to you. Also, can;t there ever be an adult discussion without adolescents like you showing up with personal crap? Be better...

I believe Williams was always scheduled to redshirt this year. I do think he's been dealing with an injury but I don't think he would've played regardless.

I will say the Tremont/Naz/KBW team that was a 3 seed was pretty fun. This team is probably just as talented but plays so much more as a team and plays hard on defense

This thread title is like that time darth vader awkwardly walked away mid sentence. You know the part I’m talking about.

Why don’t more people talk about that? It was really weird and clunky and you know it.
