It's wild how simple-minded some people can be. Purple, gold, good. Other team, other coach, bad.

These people don’t watch the games, which is the problem. They think they are good fans for occasionally checking a box score then saying something positive about the team.

Anyone who has actually watched LSU men’s bball since Wade took over to now can not possibly say anything positive about the state of the program.

If Wade is a mediocre coach, what the hell do you call the current coach?

This is one of the worst takes I have read on here in a while.

Wade is about to take McNeese to the tourney for the third time in history and he is doing it year 1.

You can say he wasn't elite. But he was pretty good. Idk where this "He wasn't a good x and o coach" came from. I think Savir wheeler once said Will wade is a offensive genius lol.

But none of that matters now. What matters is we start winning basketball games now. I think the fan base really doesn't care about Will wade. They care about winning(which he did at a rate that probably won't be matched) that's all it would take and you won't see a will wade take on this board again.

That is until he ends up at Vanderbilt or Ole miss in the next 2 years.

I’m not a basketball X and O guy, but I never loved how LSU looked when we went up against the well-coached teams under Wade. Take Michigan State in NCAA tourney for example. We didn’t look well coached.

That said, I wish we looked as well-coached now as we did under Wade.

The best thing to happen to Will Wade was him being fired. Had he stayed and had a string of mediocre or poor teams, he wouldn't have his legion of groupies to fawn over the greatest coach that never was.

Michigan State had a team full of upperclassman with a coach that’s considered a future hall of famer. Wade also wasn’t on the sidelines for that game.

If the expectations for LSU basketball is for your 36 year old coach to run circles around Tom Izzo in year 2, idk what to tell you.

It’s about winning and he won a lot. I dont understand how some people can be so dense when it comes to understanding this. What you are saying makes zero sense. What’s hard to understand about 105 wins in 5 seasons? I do not worship him but it’s about winning.

This is what the AD wants you to believe. It was not what happened. That would have worked in cases handled by the NCAA committee on infractions, but the IARP did not operate that way. It was very clear from the case that went through that process that the IARP didn’t give you brownie points for firing coaches, especially not coaches in other sports.

He got caught in the same sense that Bill Self got caught. The difference between the two is that Self is at an institution that stands behind their basketball program and its coach.

ETA oh yea Self just signed a multi million dollar extension!

Maybe thats why he was always fired up. Maybe that's why he loved his players. The dude gave a damn. Mcmahon looks like he doesn't even have a pulse.

Why do people feel like a guy has to act like a juvenile with no self-control to actually care? People are different in how they react so coaches will be too.

You guys would have hated John Wooden.

Here is the reality, McMahon cares about his job and that is LSU right now.

Will Wade also cares about his job, that was LSU but now it's McNeese.

Their demeanors do not mean one cares more or less than the other, only that they have different types of personalities.

Both guys are professionals. Both had good records before LSU. Wade performed better than McMahon has so far though I would say he came into a better situation. However, I would not say what McMahon inherited warrants the play we are seeing right now, and if things do not rapidly improve he should be out sooner rather than later. But I have zero influence on those decisions.

It’s one thing to be an LSU fan, it’s another thing to be an obsessive borderline mentally I’ll fan of a coach that no longer coaches here. And I was a big Wade fan but like a sane adult I’ve moved on. I’ll give McMahon 3 yrs to turn it around. If we are still struggling to be competitive then I’ll agree there needs to be a change. Until then I’ll root for the Tigers because that’s what LSU fans do. But you really have to be miserable to be on here every day bashing the coach and the team and telling other fans Not to support the team. Truly losers in life.

Nothing against McMuffin but he was bound to fail here. The administration doesn't care about men's basketball. Hard to succeed when no one cares. Hard to recruit when no one cares, especially with NIL.
