While I don't agree with you as far as his ability to lead a team (he can), I mean it's over. He is gone and not coming back it's kinda pointless to keep talking about it.

Mediocre coach who won the league in year two and took us to four consecutive NCAA tournaments. How sad is it that Woody couldn’t go replace him with an equally mediocre coach.
He now has a historically terrible McNeese state team playing like one of the best mid majors in the country.
You can complain about the obsession all you want, but calling him mediocre shows how petty you really are.
And for all the he got caught cheating crowd, please tell me exactly what he got caught doing. Do yourself a favor and go back and actually read the IARP final report. They did not “catch him” on anything serious.

He under achieved some but made LSU basketball relevant again and made the tourney.
But the fan reaction is normal. As fans, we are used to firing a coach because they suck or a coach leaving for greener pastures. Neither of that happened w Wade. So its left fans wanting more...

He brought life in to a dead program….
We took a few guys away from the likes of Kansas, Kentucky and Duke.
We didn’t always but could compete with anyone.
There was notoriety, drama and even national hatred.
It was really fun again, and we miss that.

There were many fans who feared what would happen if you got rid of Wade. We had suffered through a 10 year stretch of awful LSU basketball with only 2 NCAA appearances and teams that had no chance at being successful. Will Wade, even in his first season (beating Michigan and telling ULL to crawl back in their hole), he brought excitement and a team that could compete for a conference title and hopes of a tournament run.
Then when the constant assault by loser media hacks to try and harm his team and reputation with hit piece articles either directly before signing day or the week of NCAA selection, many of us were ready to fight for the guy.

In a couple of years Wade will be back at a major conference school.
McMahon won't get LSU to 4 NCAA tournaments and an NIT in 15 years much less the 5 with Wade.
The obsession is with a successful lsu basketball program. If McMahon was successful, you would not see nearly as many Wade posts.

Every bit of this is factual. Self at Kansas definitely did worse and got an extension. Others got big jobs and won in year 1.
This was a sacrifice for football and nothing else.

Anytime something positive happens with mens bball you get the casuals come out and take a shot at Wade. When Texas beats us by 20, all the up voters and OP will be MIA until we beat Lamar by 5
